Chapter 9

After talking and joking around, Vernon dropped me off at the front door of my house where my worried parents were waiting for me, Just as I got out of Vernon's car as he drove off, mom hugged me real tight while dad just stared at us

Dad: Where were you!?? It's already 1 in the morning Heria! Can't you see we're also here worrying about you!?

I covered my ears while dad keeps on shouting while mom tried to calm him down

Mom: Honey pls, calm down. We can talk about this in some relaxing tea hmm?

Mom gently pushed dad inside while signalling me to come after

She made tea and sat on her usual sit in the dining area

Dad cleared his throat and both of them gave me a questioning creepy look

Heria: Okay okay, I'll explain jeez!

I cleared my throat and sipped some of the tea before speaking

Heria: I was home late because I take care of Vernon from his injury...

Mom: Injury?

Dad: What injury?

Heria: His..... His younger brother punched him in the cheek...

Mom gasp while dad shouted

Dad: What?!??

Mom: Oh poor child he must've been hurt, And his brother?! For Pete's sake why?

Heria: Well...... Turns out Felix likes me.

They both shouted which made me startled

Dad: Tell me sweety, who do you like the most!? I'll let you marry either of them, all I need from you is to marry one of the Alacantaras!

Mom smacks dad's head from the back which made him produce a loud groan

Dad: What was that for!?

Mom: You my darling are PATHETIC! You're gonna sell our daughter for money!?

Dad: I was kidding dear! Calm down!!

Mom: You better!

Mom turned to me and just smiled cheekily

Mom: Anyways, Dear who do you like the most so far?

Heria: Uhm. None of the above.?

Mom: Really?

Heria: Well for now yes. Even though I and Vernon are kind of dating and stuff I still have those trust issues

Mom: Oh sweety!

Mom opened her arms widely as I leaned in and hug her tight while dad just stared at us like nothing happened

Mom: Come dear, I'll get you tucked in bed with milk before you sleep

Heria: Thanks, mom.

I went upstairs and lay down on my bed while waiting for mom

I got startled when my phone started ringing loudly in my bag. It was Vernon.

I answered the call and the first thing I heard is his sweet voice

Vernon: Hey

Heria: Hey, how are you?

Vernon: Fine I guess

Heria: That's good

Vernon: Hey Uhm. Do you think I can stay over at your place again tomorrow?

I got surprised a bit but then nodded as if we were talking face to face

Heria: Sure, it will be my mom's honor hahaha

Vernon: Only your mom's? How about my girlfriend?

I widened my eyes at his last sentence

He's considering me as his girlfriend already?

Heria: Oh look at the time, I need to sleep. See you tomorrow bye!

I heard a chuckle from him but before he could say goodbye I ended the call

That was close. I put my phone on my bedside table just in time my mom came in with some warm milk to make me fall asleep fast

Mom: Goodnight sweety

Mom kissed me in the forehead and tucked me in before leaving my room

{The next day}

I was outside in my garden reading a book under a tree, when someone suddenly appeared infront of me making me look up

I saw Vernon looking at me warmly while smiling cheekily

Vernon: Hey..

I smiled back and tapped the space beside me indicating him to sit

Heria: How are you?

Vernon: Fine i guess, I just got a hard time sleeping yesterday....

Heria: Why?

Vernon: You weren't next to me in my bed

I looked at him in disbelief and just rolled my eyes at him while scoffing

I got up and looked down at him while saying

Heria: I'll leave you here mister, I still have business to do

Vernon then stood uo and grabbed me by the waist pulling me close to him with our face inches away from each other. His beautiful blue eyes sparkling through the sunlight

I saw him looking at my face lovingly then stopped at my lips

He gently cupped my cheek with his hand touching it softly. He then put his hand on the back of my head and started pulling me slowly towards his face

Oh my gosh are we going to kiss?

I stopped his actions looking at him in the eye. But then as if my mind was on its own phase, I grabbed Vernon's head from the back pulling him to me, and then it happened...

We kissed....

He got shocked for a second but then closed his eyes and kissed back while i put both my arms around his neck kissing him lovingly

This is my second kiss with a boy. And it feels so good this time, I've never felt this love again after He and I broke up...
