21| Mirror Mirror [Part II]

Glitter Peace struggles the most, swishing her head around in a panic, flailing her limbs. The Glitter Force are using their compacts as breathing devices.

You and the joker are able to breathe fine.

The two of you watch in amusement as the Glitter Breeze attempts to summon...something frozen, though it fails when she cannot even get the words out.

"Ha-ha! Given up yet?"

The Glitter Force look up at you with frowns, and sudden shock to hear you speak so clearly, then back to Glitter Peace, still under severe stress being under deep water.

No one can do anything, no one can fight properly, so when this continues, you become bored, flashing the mirror over in Glitter Lucky's direction.

"Hey Glitter Lucky!" She looks up, then defeat flashes across her face in realisation of what she has done.

You fall into an empty and dry vast land. The sky is dark with deep grey clouds and the ground does not even bare a single living plant. It is like this for miles. Everyone's drenched clothes and hair evaporates the water out fast.

"So what!?" Glitter Lucky calls out, "You just gonna put us through our worst fears to collect extra negative energy!?"

"So far it is working. You all have a lot to spare." You say, truly feeling the energy overpowering your tiredness like electricity. You have never felt anything like it before since arriving in the Shadow Realm.

Rascal flips a couple of times, hanging in the air above. "Indeed it is! So what's your fear Glitter Lucky?~"

Everybody looks around at...nothing. The atmosphere looks dishevelled and dead, not a living thing in sight and a cool breeze passing by harshly. It does not affect you, but it does the Glitter Force, you see them all shaking and grabbing their forearms.

No one figures out Glitter Lucky's fear.

But you do.

"Isolation." You breathe, and everyone's face turns to meet yours. Glitter Lucky's face drops, tears brimming her widened eyes. "That is right, isn't it?" You hoverer off the ground, rising to the same height Rascal stays at.

"You are scared of being alone! Isolated, abandoned, perhaps you are even afraid of being the last of your little friends that stays alive after Nogo is revived!"

The girl stutters. "T-that's not t-true!"

"Oh there is no need to be embarrassed! Trust me. You know that I know the feeling very well."

It is almost as if Morpheus has taken control over your body, and his are the words that have started pouring from your mouth. Spending all that time with him, all the lectures, has paid off it seems.

"That fear of isolation is truly an agony is it not? A sad ending bring you an eternity of endless suffering. No one to talk to. No one to look up to. There is no one at all!"

You feel the rest of the Glitter Force and even Rascal's gaze burn into the side of your face, though you do not break eye contact with Glitter Lucky.

"You have no idea what you're talking about! I know my friends and I will succeed in reviving the only one that needs reviving! Queen Euphoria!"

Another almost sweet smile spreads across your face. "All this work you are putting into this...at the end of the day, will it be worth it?"

"Of course it will!" Counteracts Glitter Sunny.

When you look over to Glitter Lucky, her face portrays your success in getting into her head.

"You will be left alone. You will be isolated, and you will suffer with the fact of knowing that everything you have done was all for nothing, and is all you fault, all...alone."

Rascal gives you a funny look, not hilarious funny, but strange funny. It is hard to tell if it is good or bad. He watches you in fascination, but there is something else to it...

"A physical pain that you know will happen when our Emperor is revived."

This breaks her. Glitter Lucky drops to her knees, tears rolling down her cheeks with a fixed gaze in the distance.

Then, her body turns a grey and negative energy begins to drain from the girl.

"No!" Cry multiple members. "Lucky!"

Rascal laughs his head off. "It seems we have found today's winner!" Then he leaps behind you, whispering in your ear, "or winners.~"

Something is different about his voice. It almost sounds...seductive. More shivers.

"Does anyone else want to join Glitter Lucky?~"

"Of course not!" Glitter Spring calls in disbelief. "We are the ones who care about her!"

"We would never leave her alone. Ever!"

"Yeah! If one of us goes down, we help them out!"

"Or go we down together!"

Glitter Sunny, Peace, Spring and Breeze surround the girl who looks up at them sadly.

"We're a team Emily! You know we will always have your back!"

"And all of this is for something! A big something!"

"Queen Euphoria's revival!"

"We will always be there for you!"

The flames of negative energy melt away and colour regains in Glitter Lucky's skin. She smiles at her friends.

"Thanks you guys," then she looks up at you and Rascal, her smile turning into a harsh scowl, "but you!"

The mirror is passed multiple times between the sides. Glitter Fires, Blizzards and Lightning are thrown around. You enter Glitter Sunny's second fear of heights, then Glitter Spring's fear of giant insects you assume must be from a past experience. Every once in a while during the hardcore battle, a purple card flies in, allowing you to escape someone's grasp or attack, then once in a while, you chuck a knife towards the joker once seeing him in danger.

Everything is going so well; you and Rascal make such a great team.

You have collected by far the most negative energy you have ever collected.

You feel energised and strong.

And is it when The Glitter Force team up on you especially, one of them has gotten a hold of the mirror and has thrown it your way, that you unfortunately glance at your own reflection.

"No!~" Rascal cries, and springs into action and summons a dream ball to contain the two of you in. While the joker shields the two of you by keeping your greatest fear inside the ball only, you realise the effect of your mistake.
