It's been three years since my mom and dad died in that car accident. I was picking up groceries to make something special for dinner, since today was my parents wedding anniversary. It still hurt, knowing that both my parents were gone. In their will, I was left my parents' money, what little there was since we weren't a rich family, my father's pocket watch,

As I headed home after picking up groceries, the sky covered with storm clouds as rain fell, I felt the sadness of being alone in the world, wishing from the bottom of my heart to have a family again. As I passed through the small town park, seeing the summer flowers getting the water they needed, I felt a strange sensation, like an instinct to walk through a hedge near the parks center.

As I walked up to it, I saw a glow from my hand. Looking down, I saw my mother's ring glowing like a star. A rustling in front of me drew my attention back up, as before my very shocked eyes, the hedge opened up, showing vibrant, tropical plants and enormous trees, that for a fact I knew didn't grow in this small town park. Putting my groceries down, I stepped through the opening, where the smell of the sea air almost sent me into shock, because my town was nowhere near the sea. All I saw around me was thick jungle foliage, the sounds of tropical animals almost deafening to me. As I turned back to the hedge opening to leave, I was shocked to see the opening was gone, just a moss covered boulder where it should have been. I quickly tried to see if I could find an opening in the boulder, but no luck. Making sure I stayed calm, for I knew going into panic didn't help in any situation, despite the unusual circumstances, I quickly decided it wasn't a good idea to stay there, in case there were wild animals that would consider me a snack. I looked around, until I saw what looked like a path. Knowing that a path usually meant people, I started walking down it.
