Chapter 5: Han Ang

Her brother successfully awakened the power system at dinner.

For dinner, they are eating porridge. The beans, lotus seeds, and red dates have all been boiled, and there are some broken date skins in the porridge. The porridge is also very thick. The original color of the small white rice that Song Yuhe prepared can still be recognized.

At home, there isn't much food distributed; the majority of it is sweet potatoes and other similar foods. Both Xu Aiguo and Tang Xue cherished their children. They made every effort to retain some fine grain. Those sorghum noodles and corn noodles were finely ground before being added to the pot, even if they didn't eat fine grain.

Song Yuhe was currently pouring porridge into a bowl. She placed the porridge in front of Xu Nuo when it cooled, then poured a bowl for Xu Cheng. The porridge bowl included a wooden spoon. The hot air is filled with the distinct sweetness of red dates as well as heat from the freshly cooked dates, lotus seeds, and red bean porridge. The porridge preserves its inherent taste even when served upside down and chilled.

Xu Cheng grasped the bowl cheerfully when a "click" was then heard by Xu Nuo. His bowl shattered making the porridge gush out.

He wept while his hand was covered with hot soup. Xu Nuo hurriedly gripped the wall to follow Song Yuhe as she carried her grandson to the kitchen to rinse him with water.

Xu Cheng, who was curled up in Song Yuhe's arms, was sobbing when she entered the kitchen, "Sister, it hurts."

Xu Nuo spotted Xu Cheng's raised red hand. Fortunately, Song Yuhe had slightly cooled it before Xu Cheng received the soup; otherwise, it would have been further burned.

She comforted her poor younger brother, "No, no, good."

Xu Nuo: "...."

She clearly intended to say "don't cry."

Song Yuhe placed Xu Cheng on the ground and stroked his small head, "Next time, please be more careful because otherwise, nothing good will occur."

Her brother is really pitiful.

Xu Nuo frowned at her sibling's red hand and tilted her gaze toward Song Yuhe, "Grandma, sauce, paste."

She recalls that in addition to scalding cream, she can also rub toothpaste and soy sauce. She is currently in the kitchen. Even though she can't pronounce soy sauce with her mouth, applying it is still convenient.

Song Yuhe understood what Xu Nuo meant after spending a considerable amount of time with the child. She led the two young children by the hands, "Soy sauce isn't necessary, but it's a bit red. It will be fine later."

Song Yuhe led Xu Nuo and Xu Cheng back to the dining area. Once more, Song Yuhe served Xu Cheng a bowl of porridge. She remembered to remind him, "Xiao Cheng should be careful not to spill the porridge again, okay?"

She had assumed up until this point that Xu Cheng's bowl had broken because he was clumsy. She didn't consider Xu Cheng's strength to be the cause. Instead, Xu Nuo thoughtfully observed her brother as he carefully held a spoon to scoop porridge. Because he was afraid it would break and burn his fingers again, he dared not touch the bowl anymore.

He blew on the porridge after scooping it up with a spoon. He had a joyful expression on his face as the sweet food entered his lips. He grinned at his sister when he noticed her staring at him, "Sister, eat." He then stretched out his spoon to Xu Nuo to deliver the soup.

"No, no." Xu Nuo waved her hand while gesturing to her bowl, "Eat."

Xu Cheng did not force her. When he noticed that his sister wasn't interested in eating his food, he gobbled it himself.
