5. Rosy weekend date

On the long-awaited weekend, Elizabeth came to the royal palace incognito.
Even though they are incognito, they only come in carriages that don't have family crests on them, so if you look at them, you'll understand, but well, they're not going to raise the house in a big way.

“It’s been a while, Your Highness Vincent.

Holding the hem of her elegantly inflated dress, Elizabeth bowed.
It's an informal bow that shows respect by bending your knees and immediately raising your head. The dress is trendy and cute, not formal.
Elizabeth was showing us that this visit was incognito--that is, an intimate, private meeting.

"Thank you for coming. I really want to see your face."
"I was hoping to meet you at the school, but I haven't had the chance."

 yes! ! that's right! ! ! !
I wondered if Elizabeth felt lonely in the same way. My mood rises at once, and roses begin to dance in front of her. If it hadn't been for that novel, Elizabeth and I would have been closer by now.
However, if I bring up the subject of "Otsusei" here, the brakes won't work, so I decided to hold back and change the topic.

“Your studies are more rewarding than I thought. I heard that Elizabeth was having a study session, and I wanted to ask her to teach me, too.”
“Well, I have nothing to teach His Highness Vincent.

They are two excellent performers. Elizabeth must have known that this was half a pretext.
Just like Elizabeth said, I want you to have a good time today. And if you're lucky, I want you to raise your favorability towards me, and I want you to be conscious of me.

I escorted Elizabeth out to the garden. The weather today is as good as expected, no wind. No need to worry about notes flying away.
I was thinking of bringing a desk and snacks to the pavilion by the pond and studying there.
The surrounding area is full of colorful flowers that have been carefully cared for by the gardeners. Elizabeth looked at each one with a smile, and now and then gently held them in her hands and sniffed them.
 Ah, an angel.

After crossing the garden and arriving at the gazebo, we immediately open the notebook. But I didn't study.
That's because Elizabeth's gaze was glued to the many sweets on the cake stand.
I laughed and told the maid who was waiting to prepare some tea. Elizabeth has a sweet tooth. In that respect, she seems like a young lady of the same generation and is cute. So when Elizabeth comes, she always has cakes, cookies, macaroons, and various sweets.

"I can't believe it's a snack when you come here..."

Elizabeth shyly lowered her gaze, but did not refuse.
You know, studying is a name. Besides, I got together to study, but it didn't go, it's youthful and sweet and sour.
While enjoying sweets, we talked about things like school life.

"Yeah, what did Edward say?"
"Edward-sama? Are you the son of Earl Norden? No, I don't have anything..."

I casually ask my friends what they're interested in, according to their current situation.
Edward didn't seem to get close to Elizabeth. He thought that, in the character of that person, he would say a word to Elizabeth about her entourage's accusation of Miss Ulysses. It seems that she understands that sticking her neck that far is a big help.

"I've never spoken to you directly."
"See how I put your portrait in my pocket watch. You said you wanted to see me."

I casually hinted that I always have your portrait with me, but as expected, Elizabeth didn't hear anything.

"Well, then I will speak to you next time."
"No, you don't need to."

Oh no. I quickly denied it.
Elizabeth stares at me with a surprised face at the harsh words. The macaron she was holding in her hand fell to the plate, barely biting into it. Ah, cute... not.
Although he immediately tried to hide it, he couldn't come up with a good excuse, so he spoke honestly about his true feelings that couldn't be conveyed.

"I don't want you to talk to other men too much."
"Well, I'm sorry. I said something disrespectful. To be interested in other gentlemen while having a fiancé called His Highness."

I knew it! ! I thought it would come. Elizabeth's nature was the greatest defense, and for me it was the strongest offense.
It's not that I'm bad at appearances or anything like that, but I hate myself, but I could see a future where even if I tried to say sweet words, it wouldn't be understood at all, so I changed the topic again.

“I thought I had gotten used to school life, but three months have already passed. Time flies so fast.”
"Yeah, very much"
"We'll be adults soon... and we'll get married when we graduate."
"Yes, I have to use the rest of my time to complete my bride training."

I tried to tell him that I was thinking about the future in a roundabout way, but Elizabeth nodded as if it was only natural.
No, well, well, I've been engaged to you for eight years, so marriage is a given, right?
I would be happy if you thought that the bride training was also for me. I want you to be a little more conscious of yourself, not the engagement itself, but the fiancée.

"That's right, and I think the distance between the two should be shortened a little more."
"The distance between the two...?"

Elizabeth, who can't help but keep her voice down when I meet her, is cute.
Staring at her amethyst-colored eyes, I made a serious face. It's time to show the results of last night's image training 100 knocks.
 Here we go.

"From today onwards... when we're together, can I call you Liza?"

I looked into Elizabeth's face to make it look as elegant as possible and tilted my head. She was particular about the width of the table for this occasion. If she's too big, you won't be able to see my face very well.
A well-prepared mood, however, failed to break Elizabeth's natural defenses.

"Of course! Is it okay if I call you Prince Vincent, Prince Vince?"

 Smile oh oh
I felt my cheeks heat up as I received that shining smile. Neither the intention to shorten the distance between the two, nor the meaning of wanting to have a name to call each other only when the two of them are alone, seems to have not been conveyed to Elizabeth in the slightest—there has been a lack of Elizabeth in the last few months. My heart, which had dried up, began to breathe again with the rain.

"Of course... Liza."

When I instinctively stand up and call her name, Elizabeth, no, Liza, looks up at me with a shy smile.

"Yes, Your Highness Vince."

Ah~~~~~~ Let's get married! Oh, I was going to do it.
Harold's pitying gaze stabbed into my back, but for now I didn't mind it at all. I think I'm the happiest man in the world.

I swore in my heart that I would protect this happiness to the fullest and completely eliminate anyone who would get in my way.
