Sunghoon had two alphas going after him.

Well, he had a lot of alphas after him, after all he was one of the prettiest omegas in his university. For the most part, he didn't care. Many called him inconsiderate or cold, but he was neither of those. He appreciated the effort and the attention, but he wasn't about to give hope to some alpha just because of that. Truly, he wasn't interested in them, and so he wasn't going to even humour them.

So why were these two alphas different? For starters, the alphas, Lee Heeseung and Sim Jaeyun —a.k.a. Jake—, were his friends. Sunghoon had no idea either of them felt anything towards him or when those feelings had started, but they were there now so they had to deal with them. Not only was he friends with both of them, but the alphas were friends with each other. This left Sunghoon a bit unsure about how to proceed.

Secondly, while Sunghoon didn't feel anything for any of the other alphas that wanted to court him, he did kind of like Heeseung and Jake. Maybe he spent too long denying the existence of said feelings. Yet again, they were there and he had to deal with them. This messed with him, because he didn't like one more than the other; he did like them differently, but it somehow still felt the same. It was a little maddening.

Because the thing was that he had to choose. He had to, as things were, Sunghoon was leading both of them on and he liked them too much to continue like that. He had to choose soon, because he kept leaning into their touch and seeking their scents, but he wasn't accepting either of them. If he continued to act this way, both of them would leave him and he couldn't have that.

He had to choose, but he couldn't.

How on earth was he supposed to choose between the two most perfect alphas he had ever met? It was simply impossible, he refused to do so. Besides, Jaeyun and Heeseung were friends, if he were to choose one of them, he was sure to cause resentment between them. Sunghoon would never forgive himself if he ever caused something like that. Which meant he had to turn them both down.

That presented a whole new set of things for Sunghoon to deal with. He had to decide how, where and when he would do it. Was he going to talk to them separately? Would this make their friendship awkward? He didn't know, but either way he would be the one losing, so better do it on his own terms.

The possibility of them never talking to him again was far away from Sunghoon's mind. He didn't believe they would react like that from being rejected, though things would most likely be awkward for a while. There was no other way, however Sunghoon looked at the issue, there wasn't a simple solution that would leave everyone happy. And so he called Jaeyun over for some coffee not too far away from university. The truth was, Sunghoon couldn't be certain Jaeyun and Heeseung were aware that both were courting him, and he wasn't going to be the one to break the news to the other.

"So… this is going to be hard, please don't get mad," Sunghoon started, facing Jaeyun and away from the entrance door.

"Okay, that sounds promising," Jaeyun joked, trying to ease some of the tension.

"I'm serious," Sunghoon insisted and Jaeyun nodded. He was looking at him with the softest eyes and all the love Sunghoon wasn't sure he deserved. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, Sunghoon willed himself to speak, "you can't court me anymore."

"Oh… I wasn't expecting that," another voice came from behind Sunghoon. Much as Sunghoon didn't want to accept reality, he had to turn around to confirm that Heeseung was standing there.

He saw, the moment he looked into Heeseung's eyes, how everything he had planned crumbled. In that moment, he realised he wouldn't be able to avoid the other finding out about the courting. Hopefully, they were already aware and this wouldn't turn into an incredibly uncomfortable situation. Sunghoon had no way of knowing the outcome. He also had no idea what Heeseung meant with his words.
