It has been a couple of weeks now since I started at UA.
On the first day, we did a series of tests. Each test was specifically meant to test different abilities: speed, strength, stamina, etc. None of which I needed to use my quirk for.
Don't get me wrong, I am upset that I can't use my quirk like everyone else can. I met with the principal, Nezu, after my first day. He explained to me that during combat training, I could only use my quirk when we are not sparring against each other or doing anything that involves us using our quirks with other people. What I can do is practice on non-living objects.
Furthermore, from my knowledge, I know how they sort the classes in the hero course. It's dependent mostly on their quirk. Those with the strongest, powerful, or most useful quirks in the hero field usually are put into class A with some exceptions. The rest follow behind. It isn't that the others don't have the capability to be a top hero or that they don't have the best quirks, it's just easier to teach when we are categorized like this.
Some part of me, though I know I have a powerful and strong quirk, believes the reason I was put in Class 1-A is because our homeroom teacher is Aizawa-sensei. If my quirk was to ever get out of of control, he could erase it.
I try not to think much on it because I don't want to assume that they don't have any trust in me.
I was sitting at my seat during break before our next class, combat training with All Might.
I was lost in thought when I suddenly heard my name. It was then that I noticed that Midoriya, Uraraka, Asui, Iida, Kaminari, Ashido, and Kirishima were standing in front of me, practically encircling me.
"What's up guys?" I spoke. "And for the last time, just call me Ryo."
"Sorry, Kozumaki...I mean Ryo!" Midoriya said, hands held in the air.
"Anyways," Uraraka was next to speak. "We were just curious. We've never seen you use a quirk, and you haven't mentioned one either. We don't mean to be rude or anything. We just want to know...do you have one?"
From the corner of my eye, I spotted both a blonde and dual-colored hair listening in on the conversation.
"I do have a quirk, but it is dangerous to use."
"You shouldn't hold yourself back, Kozumaki," Iida spoke.
"I'm sure it'll be ok for you to use it," Ashido continued. "I mean we all are here to get better at using our quirks, so that we can be amazing heroes in the future. But that won't happen unless we practice using them."
