It's a warm sunny day, afternoon. Like most days Darcey is hanging out with her friends Ash and Lilith in the cafeteria at the school. They are there chatting about what the classes they had before lunch were like; When Lilith mentions there is a cute boy who looks like he is lost, Darcey and Ash urge Lilith to ask him if he needs help with anything. She ends up complaining about it but then walks over to him, she asks him if he needs help with anything he answers that he is looking for a Darcey who is class president/valedictorian. Lilith points over to a table near the⁸ vending machine and says that they are friends, and to come over to do whatever he needs. They start walking over to Darcey and Ash and he introduces himself to Darcey. His name is Lucas. He is apparently her physics partner and he apologized for not being able to do it earlier as he was absent from school for a few weeks. They start to talk about the project and when they can do it after school. They decide to meet at the public library around 5pm. The bell rings and Darcey's friends start going to their classes and say if she doesn't hurry up, they will leave her behind. As she is being rushed by her friends, she hands a ripped-up slip of paper that contained her phone number. She rushes with her friends and goes to her next class. As she is walking to class, she remembers they have a quiz/test that they were supposed to study and come to class early today. Darcey starts to rush her friends, saying that they screwed up. They go to open the door and they were locked out. 'How embarrassing' they thought to themselves as they knocked on the door to be let in. Thank God their teacher is so nice. They apologized for not remembering that they had to come to this class early. Darcey and her friends go to sit down. They had to do a hard test in half the time, but weirdly enough her friends finished rather earlier than she thought they would have. She was still stuck on the 3rd question. She cut out of her thoughts and just writes whatever she could, basically guessing. When she reluctantly handed her test in, she saw the correct answers on someone else's test and saw that hers was wrong. Darcey staggered to where her friends were, and she told them she is quite sure she failed. Her friends told her to cheer up and that she most likely will be fine. They tell her that they both studied together without her. Darcey feels devastated her best friends basically left her for dead this time. She easily moves past their mistake, and they end up laughing together again. The last class she has at school is French class. She has this class alone as she chose it as a second language instead of Spanish like all her friends did. Darcey starts walking to her French class all alone, she has yet to make any friends in that class. Darcey gets through the day rather quickly. She feels drained, but she did manage to talk to a few people. Now all Darcey wants is to do is just relax on the bus and go home. The bus stopped and a person awoke her saying they didn't know what stop she was, but they didn't want her to miss it. Sadly, she already missed her stop. Darcey ended up having to walk home from farther away then if she just walked home. Amidst her thinking, Darcey received a phone call 'unknown number.' She lets it go to voice mail. It's Lucus, who she was supposed to be meeting in the library. Darcey is shocked how could she forget when she planed it with him at lunch! He calls again. This this time she picked up; She explains her situation and asks if he could wait for her to call a uber or if he would want to just do it another day. Lucas is very understanding and asks if Darcey would like to be picked up, she says it would be very appreciated, and she sent him her location. Lucas got there super fast, and they went to the library to start the physics project. Darcey decided it would be a clever idea to make a wooden pyramid for it and Lucus agreed but said it may be hard to do. They started figuring out the measurements of the project and before they knew it, they were fooling around having a lot of fun. They weren't even talking about the project anymore and before they knew it, the day was over. Darcey told him she had to get home soon, and Lucus offered a ride again. Darcey accepted his offer and before she knew it, she was home. Now she was absolutely exhausted. All she wanted to do was go to bed, but she first needed to do her homework. She got it done as quickly as possible and soon she fell asleep. Darcey awoke to an extremely loud alarm. She trotted out of bed, quickly got dressed and opened her blinds. She decided against breakfast today and went off to wait for the bus. As she was dropped off at school, Darcey saw a friend, Sarah, who was in her science class and had a project with her. They made a scientific board game today that they have to present and explain how to use it. It's a rather fun class. After Darcey's first class (classes rotate everyday btw), she decided to just collect the paperwork from her teacher and work in the school library, as her class was too loud to focus. The lunch bell rings and Darcey heads off to lunch she meets up with Ash and Lilith at their table. Lilith looks excited and upset to see Darcey "Hey! Why'd you skip our shared class earlier!?," Darcey replies that she did not skip but that she diligently worked in the library. They started to squabble, and Ash had to break them up. They quietly ate lunch and then Ash told Darcey that they should make a study group chat. "Sure, just make sure you add me," Darcey says, basically revealing that she was upset that they studied without her. They looked at Darcey, 'So this is what you were upset about' was what the look on their faces said. Darcey just started quickly walking to her math class. She had hers and Lucus's project, eager to finish working on it. She arrived in class; everyone was there except for Lucus. Darcey raises an eyebrow and asks the teacher if he is absent today. Turns out he didn't show for his other classes. Darcey feels rather sad that he isn't here because she was hoping to hang out with him as he is rather cool, and they have to finish the project. Darcey starts the project without him. A loud sound burst through the door halfway through class. Lucus is there looking rather dishevelled carrying a lot of things. "My car broke down," he blurts out to the teacher. "Go sit down, we are working on the projects, get your partner to fill you in." "Thanks," he replied. Lucus sat down and saw that the project was basically finished, it just needed to be sanded and painted. "Ha, so you finished the project without me?" he scoffs jokingly "pfft, it's not really finished, its not exactly done yet, you can do the rest of it!" Darcey replies. They start talking and it turns out he walked to school for more then half the school day. They talked a lot and Darcey told him she got in an argument with her friend. They talked for quite a while and before they knew it class was dismissed and he finished the rest of their project, all it needed was to dry. Darcey and Lucus parted ways and Darcey walked to her next class. The day ends and Darcey avoided her friends for the rest of the day, embarrassed that she was mad at something as simple as forgetting to invite her to study with them. She thought long and hard on how to not look weird and approach them again tomorrow. It's now morning, Darcey didn't figure out how to talk to them without being awkward, but if it makes them friends again Darcey will have to deal with a little awkwardness. Darcey wakes up gets dressed opens the blinds and walks downstairs for breakfast. She goes outside to wait for the bus to pick her up. On the bus she did a few pages of her homework. Darcey walks into school and goes to her first class today it is math because of the rotation. She doesn't have to think of what to say to her friends, and she gets to see Lucas. Today Lucas didn't show up Darcey is guessing he is getting his car fixed. (Time skip.) Darcey is on her last class of the day. She is now on her shared class with her best friends, Darcey didn't see them since she arrived earliest. Darcey was slightly hoping that they wouldn't show up, but alas they indeed they did they even sat next to her as if nothing happened. "So, Darcey you still mad at us?" said Ash, Lilith didn't look at Darcey, "A little." Darcey didn't want to lie to herself since she actually felt rather hurt when they forgot to include her. They continued the class in silence, with Ash sometimes speaking to either of them. The day ended with them still not rekindled and Ash was in a rather peculiar situation of both her best friends fighting. Its afterschool and Darcey got a call from Lucas that he would like to meet in the public library because he didn't come to school today, and he would like to borrow her notes. Darcey says sure and she starts walking to the library. Darcey arrives at the library notes ready, she sees Lucas and hands him the notes and she pulls out her homework to work as well. Lucas started the conversation first. "How was your day at school today? -by the looks of it you had a difficult day." "Yeah, I did have a rather bad day today." Darcey says. "Are you okay?" Lucas was at the edge off his seat looking for any type of response Darcey wandered around the question as if she herself didn't know. "I'm not sure." She finally answered. Lucas and Darcey ended up talking until the library closed, they got all their work done they even got all the other classes work done. They were told to leave since the library was closing, they were going to part ways, but Lucus asked if she would like to keep working at his house. Darcey declines since it is getting late, and her parents might worry if she stays any longer. He says, "would it be alright if I call your taxi?" Darcey says "sure." They wait for their taxi's Darcey's taxi arrived first. Lucas offered to pay Darcey said she would appreciate it and left home. After the taxi dropped her off, she walked through the door of her room climbed onto bed and tried her best to wash all her anxieties away. Even though she talked about them with Lucas she didn't feel any better. But as she drifts to sleep, she forgets all her despairs. It's the weekend and Darcey's parents are arguing early in the morning, Darcey gets up rather abruptly. She puts her headphones in and turned relaxing music on and tunes out off to space just thinking. Its about 7am and she doesn't know what to do. So, she texted Lucas if he would like to hang out. He didn't reply so Darcey went to do other things. She already finished her homework so she couldn't use that to distract herself. She could sign out a book, but the library isn't open this early. She sighs, then pulls out her computer and decides to just scroll for a show to watch. It's now around 10am, Darcey has yet to be texted by Lucas. The show she watched was awful. The library is open this time. Darcey starts walking to the library she wonders what type of book she should take out. She starts walking though the library isles and browsed through whatever she saw. The one that caught her interest was a romance fantasy with a dark turn she started flipping through pages sand it looked good to her, so she sat on a been bag chair and started reading. She almost read the entire thing, but it was starting to be too gory for Darcey's tastes. So, she got up put the book back and went back to browsing for a different book. But by this time(12pm) Lucas had texted back he was available, and the reason he didn't text at first was because he had slept in. Darcey told him she was at the public library. He arrived swiftly, rushing over excited to hang out. They enjoyed reading together. They didn't even talk that much. Darcey and Lucas enjoyed each others company. Darcey had to leave the library a short while later. Lucas asked her if she could stay a little longer. Darcey has never not come home on time, but she decided to stay. They chatted for a while they told each other everything. Lucas is now one of Darcey's closer friends, He knows about her depression. She didn't want to tell him but for some reason Darcey doesn't know when to shut her mouth around him. She had to go home for real this time. Lucas offered to drive/walk her home, but Darcey said she wanted to clear her mind as she walked. What Darcey didn't know was that she should have said yes to Lucas's offer. Darcey would have come to regret walking home, it if she could feel it that is. She was gone in a flash, dead. No apologies to her friends she had yet to forgive them before her death. Darcey never got to grow up and go to the university she wanted. All those days she spent restlessly worrying about whatever was bothering her at the time was all over. Lucas never got to confess his growing feelings for Darcey. Her friends Ash, Lilith which profusely apologized to her for being petty. Darcey's valedictorian which she was going to use to help her get a scholarship. It was all over.
