Sound of a Storm

I sit at the party, away from Adam, but I look at him every once and a while, to see if he's walking over.
Hannah taps my shoulder a few times before I stop thinking and staring off into space.
"Ellie, what's on your mind?"
"Haha, nothing." I say light-heartedly and awkwardly at the same time.
"Okay, Dreamer."
I hide my face from the crowd, and Hannah notices.
"C'mon, Ellie! It's not that bad."
"I guess-- your right..." I say, getting coaxed out of my shell.
Hannah walks over to the other side of the beach, and starts a chat with Ella.
Adam comes over and sits by me.
"Ah!" I jump up a little.
"Haha, sorry. Didn't mean to startle you." he laughs.
"I-it's fine." I stutter and look down, then smile a bit.
"I'm gonna go see Hannah and Ella, are you alright with that?"
"Oh... yeah."
"And one more question..."
"Yes?" I say, looking up.
"What does 'Je T'aime' mean, again?"
"Oh, uh, nothing, really."
"Oh, okay." He says cheerfully, then walks over to Hannah and Ella.
Fire appears next to me, "You're a smitten kitten, aren't ye, darling?" asks Fire.
"A little bit." I say, smiling.
"A little bit? Well, okay. But dear, don't be so shy around him!"
"I'll try."
"You'll try." she nods and fades away into the Wind.
I hide away behind my journal and start writing;
"Adam's very sweet, but I don't know if I should talk to him or not..."
I see my guitar leaning against a rock, that's where I left it! I run over and pick it up, then I sit on the rock.
I start strumming the chords quietly then I start singing a bit.
"In the night,
I'm out of sight,
Hidden away,
'So shy!' they all say..."
I hear someone walking up behind me, so I hastily throw my guitar to the side.
I realise it's Adam, and he sits next to me.
"Hello..." I say, looking a probably looking a little sleepy.
"Hi." he says looking me in the eyes.
"You look tired." he laughs.
"Hah." I go pink when he says it.
That's when I swear I hear a crack off in the distance, but very far away.
