October 28:

There are three more days until Halloween and I still don't know who I'm going as. I texted Jessica to come over so that we could go costume shopping together. As I waited for her reply, I picked out my outfit for the day. It was a pink dress with neck area designed with white lace, cream colored sandals with two parts holding the shoe in place ( one between my toes and the other wrapped around my ankle) , and a white braided bracelet.

After admiring my outfit and being proud of my choice, I went across the hall to my bathroom and undressed for the shower. Once the water was at the perfect temperature, I stepped in and let the water cascade down my body.

Not even ten minutes after I entered the shower, my phone began to ring. I got out the shower as quick as possible to see who was calling.

"Hello?" I asked the unknown caller.

No one said anything for the first fifteen seconds but right before I hung up, I heard mumbling that sounded like watch your surroundings. I have to admit, that was really creepy but it was probably just someone prank calling.

I got back in the shower and adjusted the temperature of the water to a little cooler to stimulate my thoughts.

"No Jessi, that's to much, I don't wan't some random person rubbing up against me." I said with a hint of seriousness in my voice.

Right as I said that, I heard footsteps but when I turned around, the person was turning the corner. I've been so cautious of everything ever since that mysterious phone call.

"Fine but don't expect us to cover every inch of our skin, we are seventeen for god's sake." Jessi said as she continued browsing for her costume.

"Okay but that doesn't mean we have to wear only leaves to cover our lady parts either."

Jessi walked towards me with a determined look on her face and she aquired a firm grip on both of my shoulders.

"Aria Franklin, we are going to go to this party on october thirty-first, and you are going to have fun, trust me just live a little."

We kept looking around for our costumes and I ended up getting a cute greek godess costume. It had this beautiful, gold, flowing, godess like dress with jesus sandals, and I floral headband that had white leaves with golden roots. Of course, Jessi had to go all out and we ended up getting each part of her costume from a different store. Overall, the costume came together well and going to about ten stores was worth it. She was going as an angel of light.

But as we were shopping, this one persons' footsteps stood out the most and everytime I turned around, that same back was turning a corner. It reminded me of that strange call I got while I was in the shower. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and tried to convince myself that it was nothing.
