"what about him?" another girl asks, pointing towards yoo chunyoung.

"yoo chunyoung? he's a celeb! he models for his famous uncle. unfortunately he never talks to girls." the other girl replied, getting glum towards the end.

the gossiping girls' conversation slowly dies down. the room was still loud, with most of the students focusing on the four heavenly kings. solbi was never one for small talk but decided to try to become friends with her desk mate. she took a deep breath and turned to the girl next to her.

with an awkward smile etched onto her face, solbi greeted her. "hi my name is baek solbi. it's nice to meet you."

"hi.. i'm baek yeomin." yeomin turned to solbi and looked uninterested. yeomin was about to turn back around when solbi spoke.

"we're both baeks ahahaha." solbi could feel swear falling down the side of her face. she wanted to beat herself up for how awkward this situation was.

"yeah i guess." and with that baek yeomin turned back around.

invisible tears were streaming down solbi's face.

'this is why i should never talk to someone ever again.'

just then the sound of a chair moving was heard. usually no one would pay any mind to that but because it was one of the four heavenly kings, everyone got quiet.

eun jiho stood and scanned the room. "who's ban yeoryeong?" he said.

the air in the room seemed to turn frigid. solbi couldn't help but shiver a little.

"it's me." she said fearlessly. in that moment solbi couldn't help but think that ban yeoryeong was seriously the coolest. if she were in that situation solbi would've been long gone, never to be seen again.

"you're the one who came first place?"

"yeah. so what?"

the spectators, other students, started murmuring. everyone was appalled at the situation unfolding right in front of them. solbi could've sworn she saw lighting flash between them.

but something was weird. according to the gossipers, woo ju-in has an iq of over 200. so why didn't he place first? solbi felt disappointed in herself for believing the first thing she heard with absolutely no proof.

eun jiho continued. "just you wait. i won't go easy on the next test." a smirk slowly rose to his face.

solbi sweat dropped. he seemed a little too cocky.

"seriously were you ever going easy on me?" yeoryeong replied.

solbi was, in her mind, cheering yeoryeong on with two thumbs up. she's seriously so awesome!

"just wait and see." he scoffed and went back to his seat. maybe it was just the lack of sleep, but solbi thought that there were sparkles following him around.

quicker than the flash, woo ju-in appeared in front of ban yeoryeong. "wahhhh! you're the first person to ever treat jiho like that!" he grabbed both of yeoryeong's hands and shook them like crazy.

a very familiar scene popped into solbi's mind. a typical k-drama scene where the male lead exclaims 'you're the first one who has ever treated me like this!' and then falls for the female lead. solbi giggled to herself at the thought of it.

she accidentally made eye contact with the girl with short hair. for some reason, it felt like they were thinking of the same thing. solbi gave a quick, and very awkward, smile and turned back to face the front.

solbi rested her head on the table and began to drown out all the noise. her new class seemed to be way to interesting for solbi's level.

this was going to a long day.

the day was finally over

the day was finally over. it felt like an entire month had passed even though it's been a couple of hours. solbi immediately put all her stuff away and rushed to the door.

unfortunately she miscalculated and instead of smoothly passing through the door, she smacked right into the wall next to the door. her forehead started throbbing. solbi held her forehead with both of her hands and was two seconds away from crying. thankfully, almost everyone was too busy to notice.

unfortunately, someone was right next to her and saw everything transpire. his golden brown eyes bore right into her as she slowly turned around to face him.

solbi was still cradling her forehead when ju-in spoke. "are you o-"

she didn't wait for him to finish his sentence. she did a quick sloppy bow and ran out.

what a horrible day this has been. she prayed to whatever gods that were out there for a peaceful school year. even better, a peaceful life with no drama.

she also prayed that woo ju-in would forget all about what he saw.

baek solbi was frantically running down the street barreling towards her apartment. all she wanted to do was go home and bury her face into miro and dal.
