She leaped out the woods as though she was being chased by her nightmares. The terror that was seeping out of her facial expressions, would intimidate the strongest of men. Not knowing where her mind had landed her she carried on running, blindingly, through what she believed was nothing. She couldn't hear or feel a thing, then...an image appeared infront of her, that was the only bit of hope she had so she locked on to it.
Although it seemed the closer she got was the further it distanced itself from her, the mist, the mist was playing tricks around her. Copycatting the image; sending her the wrong way. In an altered second a single, delicate tear fell from her right eye, and streamed down her frosted cheek. The will within her had gone, but there was an element of something that hauled her along.
That faint picture in the distance was her guide, her star to civilization, neverthless it almost provoked her. Finally the caption drew near yet turned out to be a misconception of her mind. At that exact place in that exact position, not a moment before nor a moment after, it all unravelled before her curious eyes. Then she came to a hault, all her continuous running had come to an end. She stood there, with emotions raging like the great sea. She knew not what she saw but all that she'd dreamt of laid ahead. It walked to her as she walked to it. Her eyes paralysed on this one prominent building, the nearer she got the more dread leaked out of her and fell to the floor dancing at her feet, but she was drawn to it. A pain grew in her heart as the immense depression from this building overpowered her.
Out of all five fingers on her hand she could not feel one of them... it was the numbest sensation she had ever encountered. As she approached the gate of the building all she could hear was the heart racing sound of her feet pressing against the ground: hear the squelching noise of the wet leaves.
It was not too long until she realised that this was not just a derelict building, it was a school, but not just any school it was that school - the one they always talk about... Charlton Manor.
The outside of the school looked atrocious, to the untrained eye. Rats ran around her feet; the school sign hung by its last hinges missing some of its letters, moss covered the facades aswell as a dank stench being emitted from the cracks and openings, it almost smelled like the dead. She unlocked the gate and walked through, leaving it open behind her and continued to walk till she reached the door. The moment in which she stretched out to turn the door knob, she took a deep breath: probably the deepest she'd ever taken. She opened out her hand then noticed something on the floor, she bent down and picked it up that's when she noticed it was a bunch of keys, with a tag on it engraved with CARETAKER.
