Eugene laid in bed. The sun was shining brightly. But still had a dull colour to it. Seeming to be in the morning. He looked off to his side. A little girl laid there. She was awake, and looked upset. But Eugene couldn't remember who this little girl was.

"Who are you?" Eugene asked calmly. He seemed to recognize her but he didn't know who she was. At his words, she perked up, looking at him.

"I'm Jennifer. Your little sister." She spoke softly, and her words were filled with sorrow.

"Oh. Jennifer. Right." He remembered her now. He looked around, still confused though. "Where am I, Jennifer?"

Jennifer gave a sad sigh, "we're at dad's house. Like we've always been."

"Oh. . Who's dad?"

"Dad? He's our dad. Chase? Green hair, tall thin man with a beard. Constantly wearing a hat. Baggy clothes. You know?"

"Oh. Dad. Chase. I see now. . . Who. ." Eugene stopped himself as he thought. He tried to remember something. But his brain was so foggy he couldn't think of anything. All that came to his head was blankness. "Who am I?" Eugene finally spoke after a moment of silence from both of them

"Oh no. . Eugene. You're Eugene. You're an older brother of two siblings and a son of a father." She gave a long sigh afterwards. "Why can't you just remember any of this? Why can you remember at least who you are? Or where you are?! You can't even remember your own siblings that you've been stuck with for a long time now!"

Eugene was silent.

"Don't you even try to remember?!?! Why do I have to be the one babysitting you?"

". . I'm sorry. I'm trying to. I am. But everything keeps getting more and more foggy. It's difficult. I'm sorry. I really am." Eugene spoke sincerely. He sat up. He felt horrible. He tried to remember everything but never could.

Jennifer was silent for a while. Before giving a huff. "I know you are. It's
just- it's hard to always be the one reminding you of things. And it's upsetting when you can't even remember who your own sister is. ." Jennifer rolled over on her side, as her eyes started to fill up. "I don't mind helping you when you need it. But it's every day. Every five minutes!" Her voice grew quiet.

Eugene was silent again. But gave a sigh. Deciding to actually say something. Or try to. "I-. . I'm sorry." That's it? That's all he could say? That's pathetic. But Jennifer only told him it's fine before getting up. "Where ya' going?" Eugene's voice was raspy and quiet. Seeming to wither at every word.

"To dad. He's making breakfast." Jennifer spoke, sounding sorrowful.

"Oh. Okay." But by the time Eugene had spoken, Jennifer was already out of the room.

Eugene felt sorry for her. And for everyone. Everyone but himself. But that's how it usually was. Eugene tried to remember everything that happened. Or everyone in his life. But he never could.

He had a notebook that he kept in his backpack to keep it safe and with him. He wrote everything in that notebook, from who he was, to where he lived and how to get there. But lately Eugene's been forgetting that his notebook is in his backpack. So it's now just a waste.

But one thing crossed his mind as he thought, and felt sorry for everyone. Only one thing.
