it felt like time stoped for half a secend. then Sofus was up and running. and faster then lighting he was at the door barking like crazy.
what a dog. crazy as alweys. i mumbled to myself as i stod up and walked to the door. where Sapphire was already standing trying to make Sufus stop barking as he opened the door.
i was in shock. it was that guy again. the guy who stole my spot berside Sapphire in the bed!
and.. he had sunflowers? no.. no it wasent real sunflowers.. it. IT WAS A COSTUME!
i didnt like where this was going. He was looking at me. whit the biggest grin even on his face.
he sed something to Sapphire and they both laughed like kids. and before i knew it. i was a sunflower

i looked awfull! like som kid had dressed me up. Sapphire and Chain where dead of laughter looking at me, even Sofus was "laughing" as us dogs laugh. wow it was embarrassing. i was so pissed at them. awery drop of happyness from going to the park was gone. now i was just pissed at aweryone. here i was. the big and praud Lilly. praud to be a siberian husky. a praud dog whit a lot of power made to tow people araund on sleds in the cold north. but here i was. dressed as a fucking sunflower. u kan only imagen how embarrassed i felt. i was embarrassed and pissed and all of them. so i of cause tryed to get it off. i did my best. but it was stuck on. and all this just made the humans laugh even more. i kudent wait to get ot the part so i kud push them into the city lake. and of cause Sapphire has the audacity to say we shud go to the park like this. i tryed my best to stop them. but it did seem like they all 3 wanted to go like this. so of we went, for the park. this was so embarrassing i almost refused to go. but i went whit them. becuse i stil wanted to beat Sofus in that race. when we arived. aweryone of couse had to stare at me. take pictures and make those anoying "awwww how cute" saunds. it was horeble. i just wanted to take it off. buuuuuut Sapphire wanted another picture. whit som other flowers who looked like the one i had on.

after that. they FINELLY took it off me. it was the biggest relief i have felt in a long time. we all sat down on the grass. whit a blanket under us. they have made sandwishes for them. and me and Sofus got this weard mix of dog food. it wasent bad. but i had tasted better. me and Sofus was quickly done. but Sapphire and Chain had to talk and talk. it made me feel kinda weard the way they looked at each other somtimes. and then looked at us and then just burst out laughing. and then finelly. after what felt like ages. they told us we kud go play in the dog park.
and in our normal way, he caunted down.

Sofus and i ran whit awerything we got. as alweys he was a litle faster of the start. but araund halfway i was speeding past him. laughing whit the remaining air i got while running. and again as alweys. i was first at the dog park but whit sofus much closer behind then uselly. that son of a! he must have been training whitout me. but i just laughed. happy i had won once again. and once again Sofus was pissed that he lost. "god i almost had you this time" he sed while gasping for air. laying down. as he layed there. tounge out breating heavely. i realies how praud i was to have raised him like this.
i had been whit Sapphire since i was born. so a litle over 4 years when he one day came back from work whit a "suprise" as he called it. it was a pup he had rescued from the animal shelter down the street. that dog was of couse Sofus. i have trough time tryed geting puppyes of my own. but awery time i have failed. or the pups have simply died.. it was alweys hard for me. so when Sapphire told he had never had a mother. i swore to the gods i wud raise him like he was my own litle puppy.
ofc i never told him how much i cared for him. he alweys saw me as a big sis. where i saw him as my own child. and here in the last year where i have reached well past my clory days. im glad to se him in the midle of his. i had accepted that i was geting old. and that i probely dont have meny years left if not just a few. i was already on my 8th year while Sofus was only on his 4th
Sapphire had it harder whit accepting that im geting old. he have had be since i was born. he had a dog before me, wich of couse was my mom. but sadly. i was one of only 3 of the 8 pups that servived. my mom was so heart broken by this that she didnt eat or drink for days. and one day when Sapphire came home from work. she was dead. i have learned to live whit that fact. and opeset of my mother i swore i wud never let myself go down, and that was the best dersision of my entire live. for now i have Sofus. my litle sunshine.
ye! it was really close this time Sofus! u kud have bit of my tail so close where you. next time i dont think im gonna win it!
he roled his eyes "oh please Lilly. you say that awerytime. and u alweys win" i nodded. ye but look how much closer u are now. this time its serius. u maight win soon. and remember. old Lilly here is geting old.
"what are you saying Lilly?" he sed in a confuset tone. im saying that im getting old. i cant run much longer. he laughed it off as a joke. and layed his head on his paws and closet his eyes. just enoying the summer heat and the breeze. the birds singing. and people having fun. its saunds you never grow tired of. they are alweys so relaxing and you can just chill.
the rest of the day went on whit us all going on trips araund the park having fun. and when we finelly came home we where all so tired we just went to bed. we didnt care where. i layed on the sofa. Sofus on the graund. and the humens in Sapphires room.
the next cuble weeks and months nothing really happend. we where at the park a lot and this new Chain guy was alweys whit Sapphire. they looked more and more happy togeter. awerything was perfict.
until one day. Sofus's 5th birtday
