Leaving my parent's home felt bittersweet, it was nice to finally be free of that hectic house but I felt myself missing them more than i thought. the realization that Hakkai was my childhood friend was also a shocking discovery but it started to make sense the more i thought about it and put the pieces together. my eyes scanned kai's face as he drove us back, zoning out as the lady in my life by michael jackson played in the background.

the road trip continued as we pointed out the weird sights on the sides of the road and comparing the faces of cars to others we knew. his fingers lightly tapped the wheel as we made the last turn into the complex, putting the car in park as he turned over to face me. "i'm glad i talked to you that day."

i shifted to face him as well, my face resting in the palm of my hand as my elbows dug into the armrest. "that was random."

"i tend to have that element of surprise when it comes to things like this."

i rolled my eyes."whatever, im glad you talked to me as well."

"yea, i actually have an irrational fear of women and can't talk to them like at all. so i kinda surprised myself."

"that's kinda cute."

his finger reached for the button to turn off the car as his foot slightly pushed on the break. "no, its not" he exited the car before doing to my side, opening the door for me.

"yes it is" i laughed. "oh wow, what a gentleman."

he opened the door to the complex. "girl, i always been a gentleman don't play."

we waved over at the receptionist as we reached the elevator. "okay then mr. sass"

he raised his brow and pressed the button. "and what about it?" the elevator door opened and he extended his hand signaling me to go first. "ladies first."

i sarcastically dropped my jaw. "wow, a super gentleman."

he rolled his eyes reaching for the button for our floor. "you're not funny. by the way, i'm sleeping over today."

"nuh uh, we're going to yours, we're always at mines."

his head slightly jolted back. "fuck you mean nuh uh?"

i waved my index finger in his face as we exited the elevator going towards his door, my hand resting on my hip as i waited for him to open it. "i mean nuh uh."
he chuckled, opening the door anyways."my stuffs at your place anyways."

i stepped in as he locked the door behind himself, dropping his keys on the kitchen counter running his hands over his waves a couple times."okay and?? my stuffs at yours too."
