Mysterious Case Chapter 1: The Disappearance of Tim Murray (Screenplay)

The Opening Scene

Fade in:

1. INT. MISTY LAKE HIGH SCHOOL - NIGHT

The screen fades from black to a shot following behind TIM MURRAY as he walks out the double doors of the school.

2. EXT. MISTY LAKE HIGH SCHOOL - NIGHT

While he talks with a few of the theater kids he's leaving with a few being SARAH LEWIS, KENDAL ROGERS, and NEIL JACKSON. Outside it is dark out and the front lawn of the school is blocked by thick fog.

Tim Murray:

No I think it would have been a far better ending if Will Byers was still trapped in the upside down

Tim Murray, 17, The kind energetic theater kid, He's a short kid with short black hair to go with it. He is handsome but not so handsome that everyones follows him. He normally wears a flat cap with black jacket over top of a bottom up shirt and tie.

Kendal Roger:

I thought the ending was perfectly fine

Kendal Roger, 18, A classic theater kid but with a bit of a celebrity attitude. He's much taller than Tim and many others. He has dark brown hair which he styles in a way that feeds more into his celebrity vibe. He is a very handsome man.

Neil Jackson:

I think my parents are here

Neil Jackson, 17, one of Tim's friends and an energetic theater kid like Tim. Neil is short like Tim but it's debated about which of the two are taller. Neil has glasses with black hair.

Neil runs off toward a car that can only be seen by its headlights in the parking lot.

Neil:

See you guys tomorrow

Tim:

See you Neil

Kendal:

Bye

Sarah:

Good bye

Sarah Lewis, 16, a shy quiet theater kid and friend to Tim. She is taller than Tim and has slightly blondish curly hair.Tim's sister Lily from shipping them together cause Sarah has a little crush on Tim.

Tim and Kendal wave to Neil as he drives out of the parking lot and out into the fog.

Kendal:

We should probably get going before it gets too dark

Tim:

Yeah but I got to do something first

Tim Turns to Sarah

Tim:

Hey Sarah

Sarah Lewis:

Yeah

Sarah jumps a bit when Tim say it

Tim:

Thanks for helping me with those lines today I could have done it without you

Sarah pause for a second

Sarah:

Your Welcome

Tim:

Alright I'll see you tomorrow Sarah

Tim runs off to catch up with Kendal

Sarah:

dang it I forgot to tell him ah Dang it!

Sarah kicks one of the metal pillars.

Sarah:

ow! Ah

Sarah holds her foot for a second and goes to sit on the bench

Cut to:

Tim who hears Sarah in pain and turns around to go help

Kendal:

Hey we got to go

Tim turns around

Tim:

hold on

Tim runs back to Sarah

Tim:

Are you good?

Sarah looks up surprised

Sarah:

oh it's nothing I just kicked a poll

Tim:

that doesn't sound nothing

Sarah stands up

Sarah:

well it's nothing I'm good

Tim:

Ok I see you tomorrow

Tim turns to run

Sarah:

Wait

Sarah grabs Tim's arm and puts a little note in his hand

Sarah:

There

Sarah let's go of Tim and he stubs forward

Sarah:

oh I'm sorry

Tim:

No don't worry I'm fine

Tim looks at the folded note in his hand

Tim:

What's this a note of love?

He begins to unfold the note

Sarah:

No! Read it when you get home

Tim folds it back up

Tim:

ok see ya

Tim turns and runs back to Kendal

Sarah:

Yeah see ya

Sarah sits back down on the bench waiting for her mother to come

Cut to:

3. EXT. FOREST TRAIL - NIGHT

Tim and Kendal walking in the woods and the trail they are walking then splits into different paths.

Kendal:

see you tomorrow Tim

Kendal starts to headed down the path that head to the right

Tim:

Alright bye Ken

Tim waves goodbye to Kendal and begins down the left path. Kendal watches Tim go down the path a bit intel he disappears around a corner. After Tim turns the corner Kendal continues on his way down the path.

Cut to:

Tim walked down the trail alone but not afraid cause he and Sarah have been here many times exploring these woods in fact her house is up the hill in these woods.

He reaches into his bag retrieving a flashlight and turns on. He stops and looks around like he was doing something wrong. He then pulls his pocket knife and hides under his jacket sleeve before continuing down the trail.

Tim's flash flickers and shuts off. He slaps the flashlight but when he hears something like a clown's nose ahead of him.

Tim: Hello?

Tim's call has no answer and soon the flashlight flicks back to life revealing a quick gips of a big creepy smiling clown like creature.

We zoom in on Tim's and he see him drop the flashlight and when the flashlight hits the ground as we--

Black --
