Chapter 8

"S-sorry! When I talk about food, I rattle on forever!" They went inside, and started talking about the ramen and specials. Agari explained about the rules of getting ramen. #1: No talking, which was easy for Shousuke. #2: Complete your order quickly and sit down. #3: bow to the chef and compose your spirit. Agari was doing this, and Najimi just stared. #4: No playing with your phone. Najimi broke this rule, and Agari slapped their hand. 

They looked at the chef, which was your average stern ramen chef. He whispered "topping?" really softly, everyone barley hearing. Agari said hers first. "Firmno odlese xtragre aseextra spicyex traveg gies". Everyone thought she was chanting a curse. But the cook understood and continued cooking. He asked everyone what they would get, and Najimi said the same thing, and so did Tadano. Now, it was Shousuke's turn. 

Everyone was curious to see how Shousuke would react. Shousuke just continued to make eye contact until he nodded and continued tot he ramen. He had got through him. A sympathetic response between sufferers of communication disorders. Agari, Najimi, and Tadano's Ramen was messy, greasy, and was served in a huge portion. 

But when Shousuke set his down, it sparkled and shined. it was presented at its best and everyone was jealous that the cook picked favorites. Shousuke brought the noodles to his mouth and ate it. His face turned red because it was still hot, but he seemed to enjoy it because he continued to eat it. Everyone watched as Shousuke finished his food, everyone as in the store. When he finished his food, he bowed, the chef watching him. 

He began to grow a shiny aura around him. Shousuke noticed everyone stared and thought he did something wrong so he followed step five which is #5: Return your bowl and leave, so that is what he did. Agari finished her noodles, which snapped Najimi and Tadano back to reality. They had realized that their noodles are getting soggy, so they quickly started eating them. They found Shousuke waiting outside for them, but he was mainly waiting for Tadano. 

"Wasn't that divine?" Agari said. Najimi held their stomach. "Yeah, but I'm stuffed!" Tadano was holding his mouth because he felt he might barf if he did. Shousuke was worried about them, but actually enjoyed it. He took out his notebook and wrote 'lets go again sometime.' Tadano and Najimi started shaking. "N-no I've had enough" but ended up going a week later. 

In class the next day

Shousuke was in class early when Tadano walked in. He went to his seat and looked at Shousuke. "You're here early today. Good morning Shousuke." Shousuke started to mentally panic, and Tadano could see it. He sat down and started. "What's the matter, Shousuke?" Shousuke was panicking so much that Tadano thought he could hear Shousuke's heart beating. Shousuke pulled out an envelope and gave it to Tadano. Tadano started blushing, thinking 'What is he so nervous about telling me?'

 He opened the envelope taking out the paper that said, 'When a clock is hungry, it goes back four seconds. -Shoko Komi'. Tadano was surprised. Tadano looked at Shousuke. "Is this..... some... sort of....... code?" Shousuke looked down, thinking he failed what he was looking for. He pulled out his notebook and let Tadano read. 'I saw something on TV yesterday that said jokes are important for communication. So I wrote down a funny joke I heard of recently'. 

Tadano was sweat dropping, embarrassed he thought it was some sort of code instead of just a regular joke. "Well uhm..." Tadano started. "Maybe you should try something more situational". He suggested. Shousuke thought hard, really wanting to think of a joke to make Tadano laugh. He wrote in his notebook and hesitantly let Tadano read it. ' 'tis the season for purse snatching' it said. 'Yes, it is Muggy out, but' He looked at Shousuke in the eye. 

"Well Shousuke, that was good but, jokes come across better aloud!" Shousuke looked down and nodded. He got up, and left the room. As soon as he left, Tadano heard his phone ring. He picked it up and answered. 'My phone?' He thought. And then he heard Shousuke. "aluminum can do what tin can-'t". Half of Tadano's face was dark. 

'What is with the puns?' He thought. Shousuke came back after they hung up. Shousuke pulled out his notebook and wrote down 'was it funny?' Tadano loved that Shousuke genuinely wanted him to laugh at his joke.  just then, Najimi came in the classroom, complaining about how humid it was today. Then, they pulled out a note with a pun from their bag and said "I found this creepy note in my locker". Tadano explained that Shousuke had sent it, apparently, and Najimi was relieved. "Oh! I thought it was a secret code to killing me!" 

They breathed air out and then waved toward Tadano. "Tadano! Give him an example of a good joke!" Najimi said. Tadano was blankly staring at Najimi. "Huh?" He said. "C'mon! C'mon!" Najimi kept insisting and Shousuke was a little exited about hearing his joke.   'Oh no I better make this one good.' He thought. 

He waited a little and then turned all good. HE opened his mouth, and then- "Cats...... make purrfect pets..." He said quietly. Najimi was pretty disappointed at Tadano's joke. But Shousuke thought it was super good. He blushed a light red and his eyes had sparkles in them. If he hadn't had trouble communicating, he would have said wow. 

Hey guys sorry about the problem, if you got a notification that said I had uploaded and found I didn't, that is because I was doing half of this on a computer and half on my phone, so I accidentally hit the "publish" instead of "save"! so sorry!! but that is it for today! remember to stay healthy and drink your water! Side Note: i used the manga to do this part of the story since i can't find episode 5 on my go-to site for Komi episodes, so if it is different than what you usually get from me, i am sorry! i might not post from this day on for a while, so please don't yell at meee!!!! o.oI||
