"Hope she learned her lesson." I chuckle as we go through the busy hall as students rush to class.

"Alright, good luck with your exams." Gino smiles as he goes to his class.

"Good luck." Everyone went their separate ways as I walked into math and took my seat next to Danielle. She looked at me, started sniffing, and wrinkled her face in disgust. "Were you smoking?"

"Yes, Tony gave me a cigarette to calm my nerves for this test." I confess as I pull out my pencil and notecard, seeing it was still perfectly intact. 'Indy?' I question, still wondering if he was listening.

'Yes?'

'I love you.'

'I love you too, doll. I know you will do great on your finals; you have worked so hard for this. Listen, this week and next week are busy for us. You're taking your finals, and then I'm grading finals, so I will be so busy at home. I want you to know I still love you and think you are amazing and beautiful. Once it's the break, we are taking a trip, and we will get away from all of this."

"I can't wait. I'm so excited. Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise, my soul." His voice had a smirk as I felt how happy he was.

"Okay, our first adventure together. I'm so excited."

'Me too, Alright, class is about to start. Remember everything I told you. Good luck.'

The bell rang, and our professor stood up with a smile as he went to the front of the class with his hands behind his back. "Alright, settle down, students, settle down. Does everyone have their note card?" He asks us with just a hint of joy in his usual monotone voice.

"Yes, professor." We answer in unison.

"Alright, time for your final exam." He handed the stack to the boy up front as he took one and passed the rest down. I got my paper and put my name on it before looking at Danielle to see she nodded to me. I looked at the first problem and smiled as I knew exactly how to solve this. For the entire test, I would search my notecard, looking for the formula, and plug in the numbers. I tried my best as I began to feel overwhelmed and took a deep breath looking at the problem before me. I got this; I got this. I finished my test and noticed most people were already done with their exams. Am I the last one to finish? I looked at Danielle to see she was reading a romance novel before looking over at me. I need to check my work. I started going back through my test, ensuring everything was added upright, and I didn't make any mistakes. I sigh, then get up and turn my test into the basket before returning to my seat.

The bell rang, releasing us to our next class as Danielle kept talking about how easy the test was for her. "How do you think you did?" She asks me with a smile.

"I thought I did fine, but then I noticed I was the last one to turn in my paper. I don't know; I felt like I knew some of the questions."

"I'm sure you did fine." She smiles and rubs my back. In Madrina's class, we had little study groups and went over things we needed extra practice on for our final tomorrow. I like how they separated the finals into different days, so I didn't have to take my finals all in one day.

Danielle and I got our lunch and then sat at our usual spot on the grass. The boys came over and joined us as we discussed how our final went. To think I started here with zero friends and alone for the most part. Now I have a gang of friends, and I met my soulmate, a soulmate that makes me the happiest woman in the world. I watched Indy walk up the path for lunch as he glanced over at us and got a smirk, happy we were having a good time.

"He's the best professor here." Bruno smiles as we all stare at him.

"Agree." Danielle and I say in unison before looking at each other and giggling.

"I wonder who his soulmate is." Tony states before taking a bite of his apple.

"Not sure. Has he even met his soulmate yet?" Gino asks before looking between us. Danielle and I look at each other before looking back at the boys.

"He doesn't wear a ring." Tony says as he takes a bite of his apple with a loud crunch.

"I've never seen him with a woman when he's out in town." Bruno joins in.

"Why are y'all so interested in if he has met his soulmate? You interested?" I tease them as I watch their faces twist up in disgust.

"Umm, no, just shocked he hasn't met his soulmate. If he hasn't met his soulmate, then there's no hope for the rest of us." Toney holds his hands up as he was acting a fool.

"I mean, we have all seen his soulmark, and I've never seen someone with the same one." Luca joins in.

"His soulmate must be as badass as he is." Bruno joins in.

"So, are you ready for his final?" I ask, trying to change the subject, not wanting to get dragged into it.

"Honestly, no, I need to study some more for it." Luca answers with a sigh.

"I'm sure it won't be that hard; just study all the other tests he gave, and I'm sure you'll do great." I suggest with a smile, knowing that's what I'm going to do to study.

"You're right; thank God I saved all the tests." He nods, flashing a bright white smile.

For the rest of the week, Indy graded finals while I sat at his feet studying to take the rest of my classes. We have this unspoken rule not to bother the other until we turn in for the night. Indy knows I like being close to him and just moves his leg on the outside of his desk so I can lean on it while I study. I catch him a few times looking down at me with a smirk before going back to grading. He is making significant progress on grading the finals and should have them for the students on Monday. I'm so excited because we will be going on our first adventure together for break. He still refuses to tell me where we are going but anywhere with him will be enough for me. I can't wait to prove myself and show him I'm fully capable of handling any situation that comes my way. I'm so ready to graduate that way, and we can start our life together and quit being a secret. We could be seen in public together, get engaged, get married, and have kids. I'm tired of not being able to do the things everyone else can do because of his job. One day we will be free to move on with our relationship without harsh criticism or backlash.
