The choices you make have an impact on who you will be.

That's what Anna's father told her when she had hit him with petty jousts, fueled by annoyance and anger. For so long, Anna had waited for the moment she would be crowned Queen of Snowfall but her parents had forbidden her from taking the mantle, instead they would pass on the crown to Henry, her brother. But Anna was the eldest, meaning it was her birthright. It was a stretch of the rules, and this was well known through the kingdom but none dared question the King. All his lies and deceit to protect Anna, but from what, from having power or from herself. A woman on the throne, even if with a husband, was dangerous. The people didn't want a woman to be a ruler, even the current Queen, Anna's mother, was given little power and overshadowed by the King. It was a fact her mother had accepted long ago. A fact that would never be in Anna's blood, she would never live without a taste of the full power. But how could she go against the might of a King, her father? Well, anything comes at the prices as long as your willing to pay. Anna was willing to do anything for the crown, even if it meant paying with blood. She was the rightful Queen.

She longed to sit atop the throne, hands outstretched on its diamonds and gold plating, but it was a fantasy long from turning to reality. Her mother would fend off her thoughts of power and strong rule but instead teach her how to be a fine princess. A woman's beauty was her worth in so many peoples eyes. Her mother had accepted that fact and wore it down, like she wore her silk dresses. But Anna couldn't, wouldn't. It was a constant reminder in her head, she belonged in the throne with power all to herself. She was the rightful Ruler of Snowfall.
