Two hybrids lost

Chapter one : Where are we?

      I open my eyes to a pounding headache in the bright sun. My head and tailbone are killing me. I sit up with great difficulty and look around. I'm in a small meadow shrouded by tree branchs above. Light filters through the trees on wet grass, shining dew drops and ancient wood surround me. Looking to my side I find a dragon girl? They look strangely like my best friend and I wonder how we even got here. Finally they open their eyes and look at me.
"Shadow?" I blink, there's no mistaking now.
"Tenten?" She cocks her head to the side.
"How the fuck do you have ears and a tail?" I look down and find a fluffy tail indeed wrapped around me stemming from my backside.
"Language, and how are you a dragon?"
"I'm a what?" I nod at her and she looks at her scaly tail and draped wings.
"Well if I'm a dragon then you must be a cat." She puts back. I feel up and find fluffy cat ears on the top of my head. Feeling some more I figure out my hair texture has changed as well. I look over and see that small amounts of scales litter her body like freckles, a slight glimmer to her cheekbones and her eyes have gone a deep cyan.
"Well atleast I'm a hot cat hybrid." I feel my tail flick behind me.
"Always king. Wait... Are you saying I'm not a hot dragon hybrid?" I roll my eyes.
"Your very hot queen." She smiles.
"Cool! Now... I wanna fly bitch!" She screeches out and jumps up, grabbing my hand she rushes us out of the meadow. We run through the forest and soon my feet are underneath me and I have a strange intuition about all ahead and around us. Grabbing on to Tentenichi I stop her seconds before running off a cliff. She looks at the fall and grins.
"Don't you dare-" I start to say before she dives off the cliff taking me with her.
"So, how does one fly?"
"Your asking this now that we're falling to our deaths???" A sheepish grin and I smack my hand into my face. I swing myself onto her back and work on straightening out her wings easing us into a glide. As the ground approaches we both scream and I dive off into a tree, landing on my feet and hands. I hear a crash and a loud ow and start scaling over quickly.
"I'm alive!" I hear yelled out as I come to the ground where she landed. Cyan eyes bore into me and we both seem unharmed. Wiping the splinters off my hands I procede to reprimand my best friend about not trying to get us killed but one look and I dissolve into giggles.
"Are you in shock or something? You better not be dying without me!" I realize I do sound hysterical at this point and let up on the laughter.
"I'm fine, your fine. I just can't belive we just jumped off a cliff and survived unscathed." I choke out.
"Tell that to all the branchs I hit on the way down." She groans out. As the giggles fade out I hold out a hand for her to get up and she takes it with a look promising death. A second later and we've made regular eye contact and both bust out laughing like a couple madmans.

A good half hour later we're both walking along still miserably lost in this new world. I look over and have to restrain myself from laughing again. Luckily my side is killing me from the fit of it earlier.
"So, how different do you think this world is to ours?" She asks and I shrug.
"Well if we're hybrids then it's likely that others are too. Any world with a bunch of animal human combinations must be way different then ours." She nods and we leave it at that. We haven't seen a sign of anyone since waking up here and it's getting creepy.
"I wonder if arsons allowed here." My breath stops for a second and I choke out laughing.
"With how flammable a bunch of fluffy tails are? Clearly." At that she starts dissolving into another laughing fit as well and the odd mood is ruined by the sounds of enjoyment in each other's company.

"Would now be a bad time to mention I'm hungry?" I ask as we scale a downhill rocky terrain.
"Your always hungry."
"Yea but now I'm hungry-hungry." I hear a scoff and turn to look over at her. Turning a rock slides out from under me and I plummet down, once again landing on my feet.
"Being part cat isn't half bad." I say breathlessly. A movement behind me.
"Your just clumsy." Tentenichi meets eyes with me and kicks a rock at me.
"I'm still hungry."
"Fronting certain death and that's still your main concern?"
"Actually my main concern is water. I'm a hydro homo, I'm not meant to go this long without water."
"Its been like eight hours." She finishes with an eye roll. I grin.
"If we're hybrids now shouldn't we be able to find food by tapping into our hybrid senses." I say while fiddling my fingers around in the air dramatically and flexing my eyebrows.
"I don't think that's how it works Queen." She states with a soft shake to her head but she's smiling too.
"You never know until you try!" I say taking off and seeing if anything calls out to me. A very undragonlike squawk sounds behind me and I can hear her pursuit. I close my eyes and let the earth guide me to the right finally hearing other animals moving about in the forest. Then I trip on a tree root. Falling into a mud pile and covered in mud I stand up and say goodbye to my dignity. And my hair judging from how messed up it is. Tentenichi comes into my field of vision and starts laughing. I flick one of my ears at her and some mud ends up on her face.
"Hey!" I giggle and throw some more mud at her with my tail. If I have to be covered in mud I'm not doing it alone. She dives at me misestimating the added weight of wings and lands in the mud as well. I bust out laughing as she turns and goes for a less dignified lunge. Taking off back into the forest with her in hot pursuit we run through the woods dirty but free. I hear a twig snap in front of me and stop, coming face to face with another hybrid who's eyes widen.
"Hi!" I say trying to sound chipper and definitely not crazy and covered in mud. Tentenichi shows up behind me and stops a few feet back when she sees them. In one move the stranger grabs at me as a couple more come out of the trees.
