"Hey, Monika?" Sayori lingered by the door as the other three students left the clubroom. Monika looked up, having been organizing some papers on her desk. "Oh, yes Sayori?" she asked. Sayori approached her a bit shyly, "Well, I was wondering if I could talk to you about something. It's not about the club... It's more of a personal problem."

Monika smiled, pulling over a chair for Sayori to sit in. Sayori sat down gratefully and turned to Monika. "So, I've been best friends with MC for a long time, and I think I've had a crush on him for at least a couple years." Monika tilted her head with an amused smile, "So, do you want help on how to ask him out?"

Sayori shook her head, "No, no, that's not it. It's just, over the past couple months, I've been thinking that I might like girls. Romantically, I mean. But just recently, I realized that I don't even like MC at all- or any boy in general. Well, of course, I like him as a friend, but-" Monika cut her off, gently placing her hands over Sayori's own.

"Don't worry, I understand. I've heard of something called compulsory heterosexuality- or comphet. It's where a woman feels forced to like men, and can mistake their platonic feelings for romantic. Do you think that's it?" Monika asked kindly. She wasn't too well versed in this sort of thing, but she wanted to help her friend.

Luckily, Sayori's expression brightened, "I think that sounds right, actually. I'm glad it's not weird to feel like that." Monika patted her on the back, "Of course. You never have to feel as if your feelings are invalid."

Sayori leaned forward and crushed Monika in a hug. "I feel so much better now. So, now that that's out of the way, I think there's someone else I like." Monika leaned forward, a teasing smirk on her face, "Oh, who?" Sayori blushed, "I mean, I don't wanna tell you who it is 'cause that kind of thing is embarrassing. But she's really shy, and I'm not sure if she likes girls."

"Do I know her?" Monika asked, tilting her head. Sayori nodded, "Yeah, you're friends with her!" That wasn't too much of a clue- Monika had a lot of friends at school. Monika nodded, "That's good, then. Well, if you want some advice, I'd say to just go for it. If she rejects you, then it's her loss. Nothing to cry over, okay?"

Sayori smiles, "Thank you, Monika. I'm glad you're so accepting of this." Monika wraps her arms around Sayori, "Of course. I'm just doing my job as a food friend, okay?" Sayori giggled, standing up from where she was sitting. "That was really all I wanted to talk about," she said, "So I need to go home now."

Monika nodded, waving as Sayori walked out the door. "Good luck!" she called after her. She smiled, shuffling a few papers in her hands. She started to sort them as she thought about Sayori and her mystery crush. She was glad she was able to help- and was equally glad she was friends with people who knew those sorts of things- otherwise she wouldn't have known what Sayori's problem was.

The next day, after school, Monika had a visit from Natsuki at her home, where she greeted the shorter girl with a smile. As Monika opened the door, she could see Natsuki's short pink hair tied up in pigtails, and she was wearing a cutesy pink and lavender dress. Monika smiled, ushering her in. Natsuki kicked off her sandals at the door, and Monika led her into the living room, where they sat on the couch.

Natsuki seemed nervous, and she kept tugging at her dress. "Is something wrong?" Monika asked, taking Natsuki's hand, "Is it your father? Did he do something about you being a girl? You've seemed fine for the past few months, but I'm still worried.

Natsuki shook her head, "It's not that. I think he's been too drunk to notice that I've been dressing differently. He still calls me by my old name, but he hasn't said anything weird." Monika sighs, "That's a relief. What's wrong then?"
