      ...

      "Wait, who's Tim?"
"They're(2) the CEO of Time. Basically a... what did you humans call it again? Oh, right, a demigod. Tim's basically a demigod. They know all the stuff and things about Time Pieces."
"Wh— huh? You know a demigod?"
"Yeah, everyone on my planet knows them."
"I— never mind, I won't question that. But, you have a sister?"
"Yeah, the girl with the bow! Her name's Axxiori, she's my older sister. You've met her before."
"Oh. Why do you need to research Earth?"
"I dunno. Tim said that it's super important, though, so I have to do it or me and Axxi will be in biiiiig trouble."
      "That doesn't tell me anything."
"Tim didn't tell me anything except that it's classified information."
"Why send someone to research a whole planet when they don't even know why they're researching it?"
"I dunno. You'd have to ask Tim about that, but they don't plan on coming here any time soon, unless they find out me and-or Axxi died or something. Then they'd come here to pick up our corpses."
      "That's dark."
"So are you. And don't you eat souls for the funsies?"
"Not for fun, I need them to live."
      "That's dark."
      "......Shut up and get out."
      "No."

Snatcher sighed, tilting his head back. "You said you had stuff to do, right, Snatcher? So why are you sitting here and not doing anything?" I asked curiously. "It's stuff that (Y/N) can handle after they're done getting rid of the ice," he responded dryly, looking back down into his book. "What kind of stuff?" "None of your business, kid. Now get out of my forest!" "No." "Ugh. You know what, if you wanna stay so bad, then how about we sign another contract? For good time's sake!" Snatcher said, summoning a contract with a flock of his wrist. I looked it over, then looked back at him with a raised eyebrow. "You want me to clean the well again?" I said with a slight chuckle. "Yes. (Y/N) probably wouldn't survive the fall, but I know you will, and I don't want to go down into that musty old well!" He laughed. I smiled, picked up the quill, and signed the contract without another moment's hesitation. "Great!" Snatcher exclaimed." Now then, get to cleaning, kiddo! The well's not gonna do it itself!" I nodded, but before I left, I asked him, "What exactly do you need to deal with, anyway? Other than Vanessa, that's pretty obvious."

Snatcher sighed. "You're really just gonna stall for as long as you want, aren't you, kid?" he chuckled. I did as well. "I'll leave if you tell me," I said. "Yeah, yeah. Well, there's been a bunch of these weird traps made out of glowing red strings set up around my forest these past few months," he explained, not looking at me once. "It's kinda like those barriers the fire spirits made. Like whoever made them is trying to stop me. Keyword is trying, they're not exactly succeeding in this endeavour." "Red strings?" I questioned, putting a finger to my chin. "Yep. They seem like they're made of magic, since when I touch them, they kinda glitter a bit. And as I said, they glow. I'm not sure who could be creating them, though; nobody in Subcon has that type of creation magic except for me, and I sure as hell didn't make them. I make contracts and fire, not strings," he said. "Huh. I'll keep an eye out for whoever's making them," I said cheerfully. "Thanks, kiddo. Now get out and go clean the well like you're supposed to." I nodded and waved (Snatcher, of course, didn't wave back, since he's such a meanie) before walking out of his little house and off in the direction of the swamp.

The hand holding the ice pick was placed on my hip, my other hand holding my flashlight at the mess of ice that I was tasked to clean. "So, do I just get rid of all of it, or just clear it up to a specific point?" I asked myself. I thought for a moment, then decided on just clearing all of it. Yeah, it was more work, but hey, if I get rid of more than expected of me, then I might actually be able to get out of here. I'm still fairly sure that Snatcher's just gonna off me no matter what I do, but it's worth a shot. With my desicion made, I crouched down and began to chip away the ice coating the grass.
