A Fallen World

The first years

Everything started in 2025. The world had been hit with unknown disease all around the Earth. The people that got infected soon turn aggressive and craved human flesh. In the start it felt like every normal zombie movie but all changed when they started mutating and growing up. After a few week into the outbreak of the virus, half of the humanity was already infected. Although most of the human left had found a way to reunite somewhere in  enclosed city surrounded by wall, the infected alway found ways into those so called safe place because of undead being mutated during the first year. Humanity had tried to use their nuclear arsenal to destroy as many undead, only to find out that the undead absorbed the radiation to only grow stronger than before. They grew stronger yes but they aslo cleaned most of the radioactive fallout making it easier to travel.

After a few years, in 2030,humanity had reached a point of no return due to how small the number of human left. With only a few thousand human left on Earth it would be hard for humanity to grow back even if they got ride of all the infected. With only a few city left around the world, communication was hard and dangerous as the only way to communicate on long distance was to travel on foot or with car if they had the fuel for the travel

One night, Gabriel and his friend Eliza was on the way back to their securised city after a week of trying to find food, water, medicine and anything that could serve their group to survive. They were less than 50 in the group. Gabriel, with the help of his best friend Kristo and Eliza, they were managing to keep the group alive and well feed and hydrate.

"The few next day will be hard, we barely found anything that could be useful" Eliza said as she was cleaning her katana while watching the camp fire

Gab replied with his usual calm tone "We will figure something out, we alway do bestie, that the jobs that come from leading a group of survivor"

"Yes but how? Most of the place around have either been burn down or raided by some sick cannibal human, we would need to go farther into the dark zone" Eliza shivered on the though of having to go in the Dark zone, name given to cities were human have abandoned the place, overrunned by infected

"Yes i know kristo and I plan to go in the closest Dark zone next week to do recon mission and maybe build some safe house on rooftop of some house, while you stay back to make sure everyone keep their moral boosted up as much as possible" he replied with a less calm tone as he start to be tired. "Lets sleep now ill take the first round of guard try to get some rest"

"Fine by me im exhausted" eliza said as she lay down next to the campfire as she slowly fell asleep looking at the start in the night sky
