When Sophie found Keefe's note, she pinched herself until she was black-and-blue.
No... anything but this...
Sophie collapsed into a heap of limbs and tears.
Grady found her and shook her, yelling "Sophie! Sophie! Are you okay?"
But Sophie couldn't respond. She just couldn't.
Grady hailed Elwin, but there was nothing physically wrong with her.
Sophie couldn't stop shaking and muttering incoherently.
But if you concentrated really hard, you could just barely make out, "Keefe's gone".
She could feel all of the pitying eyes on her, but she couldn't stop.
She'd never stop.
And it was then, in her half-crazy and delirious state of mind she made a vow to herself.
She would find Keefe even if it took her life in return.

Keefe hated to leave Foster.
But he had to.
To keep her safe.
And, besides, she had Fitz.
