Chapter one, Pumpkin Latte,
As we sat in the airport, waiting for the coffee shop to open I stared at Raven, (Ray for short,) she had light skin with one freckle under her left eye and long straight blackish brown hair with purple tips and right before the purple started her hair was a bright fiery red color, but the rest of her hair was dark brownish black. Her eyes were a deep blueish brownish purple and her expression was always so grumpy. I took a drag on my cigarette and exhaled, watching the smoke surround Ray's face. She coughed a few times then waved her hand in front of her face. She rubbed her eyes and coughed a few more times.
"Can you do that somewhere else!?" She asked, obviously annoyed. I grinned at her.
"Well sure I can. But the question is- will I?" I said with a smirk. Ray sighed and rubbed her eyes again. I took one last puff on my cigarette then I crushed the top of it on the metal part of my suitcase and tossed it into the trash. Ray turned the other way her face was flushing and I could see that she was obviously flustered. I tilted my head slightly and grinned at her again. She turned back to me and furrowed her brow.
"What are you looking at?!" She asked a bit threateningly. I smiled.
"Oh nothing, you're just so cute when you're mad," I smirked, she turned away from me again and propped her head up on her hand, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.
"Oh go to hell Roxy." She grumbled. I laughed to myself and leaned my head back on the back of the bench, getting out another cigarette from the pack and lighting it on the tip of my finger.
Hi, my name is Roxy Davenport and I am a seventeen year old girl. And well, let's just say I'm a bit of a complicated person. But more on that later. To give you a description of my looks I have l little below shoulder length black wavy hair, light brown skin, and lots of piercings, including cartilage piercings, ear lobe piercings, and one in between ext. My eyes are a brownish green with a slight tinge of silver and l like to wear dark clothing, put on dark makeup, and paint my nails dark colors. And now to move onto me being a complicated person, ah yes, well me and Ray both are. Don't tell her I said that though. If you heard the part of the story where I lit my cigarette on the tip of my finger, then you'll probably have a pretty good idea of where this is going. In a nutshell, me and ray have superpowers. Ok, ok, I know don't freak out. Don't worry, we're not like some sort of mutant alien vampire who was made in a lab, I think. Just kidding. We're humans, don't worry. We were just born differently than the rest of most people. I have fire powers and ray has- uh- some sort of jibby jabby magical purple mist energy static electromagnetic lightning telekinesis thing- I'm sorry, that's the best I can describe it. I just call it her violet powers. Ya know- cause it's purple... but anyways, that's pretty much all you need to know about us so let's get back to the story!
We sat in silence for a few minutes, then Ray turned back to me with a bit of a confused look on her face.
"Roxy, what are you doing? There's a no smoking sign right over there!" ray said. I turned back to her. I smiled slyly.
"Well I'll be damned, the woman speaks," I said. She rolled her eyes at me.
"Give me that!" She said yanking my cigarette out of my two ringers.
"Hey!" I said, attempting to grab it back from her, but she held it up in the air and with a buzz of electricity, the cigarette vanished into dust, and fell down into Ray's lap, which she quickly whipped away with a flock of her wrist. I lit a small flame in my index finger and led it up to her, shoving it up under her nose, she stared down at it, confused.
"I will fight you right here right now," I said, in a bit of a snarly voice. She quickly stuck her finger into her water bottle and dripped it onto my finger. Extinguishing the flame.
"Don't do that here!" She whispered with a hiss. I scoffed.
"Says the girl who literally just disintegrated a cigarette in front of everyone!" I protested. She sighed.
"Look, Genna told us not to, so I think we should obey her wishes!" She replied. I scoffed. "What does 'Genna' know?" I asked, making air quotes. Ray pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Roxy, you're high," she said with another sigh, I looked at her with a bit of an offended look in my eyes.
"Wh- no I'm not!...you're high!" I answered, because I couldn't think of anything better to say. Ray sighed once again.
"I'm gonna go get a coffee. You want anything? Latte I assume?" She said, beginning to get up.
"Pumpkin latte," I corrected. Ray shook her head.
"Ok fine, 'pumpkin' latte," she said as she walked over to the coffee shop. I looked over to my left and suddenly saw a strange tall man dressed in a black hood watching us. I blinked at him, but didn't do anything else.
