TRUST NO ONE BUT THE PEOPLE YOU ARE WITH WHILE SEEING THIS BROADCAST

EMERGENCY BROADCAST

It was an emergency broadcast. The spaceship made contact with us? I looked up at my friends and they looked around at each other. Kyle then commented, "Wow, they aren't kidding. We should leave. We are in a big city. BYU is in Provo. Can we take your car Jack?" I replied saying, "I am the only one who has a car. What other car could we take?" He then said in a sarcastic tone, "Oh ya, right." We all stood up and started out of the living room. I then said, "Pack only essentials. We need to hurry." We all went into our rooms and I grabbed my spare backpack, I started filling it with my toiletries, then I put my small camping sleeping bag in, then I put a hammock in. Lastly, I grab my phone which I put down, my wallet, and my keys. I then go into the kitchen and grab nonperishable food in the cupboards that I bought. I then go check on everyone else.

"How are you guys doing?" I ask. They all reply with a good and Kyle replies with an, "Almost ready." After a few minutes, we are all packed and get into the car. I get into the driver's seat and start the car. I pull out of the school, hoping I can be back soon. We start driving towards the freeway but get slowed to a stop pretty far from the entrance to the freeway. Everyone is trying to get out. Get away from the giant cities. We decided to turn around and go another way before we got blocked in. I asked everyone, "Do you want to go to American Fork Canyon? We could find a camp spot to hang out at for a bit until everything dies down." Kyle agreed with me.

Hailey asked, "Why don't we just go to Provo canyon?"

"Because my grandpa has a cabin up there. I don't have a key for it but there might be a campground around there." I replied. She just nodded. I kept driving. I occasionally looked up to try and see the giant ship above us. It looked ominous, almost like an alien made of metal was floating in the air. But we kept going. After about 20 to 25 minutes, we arrived in cedar hills, the city that holds the entrance to American Fork canyon. But then a plane flew pretty fast over us. It flew to the middle of American fork. By the time it passed, we all realized that it wasn't a plane. It looked way more futuristic to be one of our planes. It has blue fire coming out of the jets. But it started to hover over the main part of American Fork.

Kyle then said, "This can't be good..." as soon as he trailed off, a giant shot came out of the ship, it blew up a small chunk of the city. "Oh S***" Kyle swore. That ship was blowing up parts of the city. Probably trying to kill people too. I started driving faster. We were almost there.

We started going up a hill by a church when a ship appeared in front of us, pointing the other way. Letting off shots and blowing up a car in front of us, Carson screamed. I am surprised by the sound. It was weird, I haven't heard her talk at all. She is usually the one to make comments and ask questions. But I couldn't focus on her for long as the ship turned around. It seemed almost 4 times bigger than my minivan. It took a shot at us, I barely had time to move out of the way. But it blew up the road right behind us. I was at this point hitting speeds that wouldn't be legal anywhere. I made it past the ship and started going down the hill to go into the canyon. I made the turn and I could feel myself shift in my seat as the car leaned a little on 2 wheels. I kept going as I heard another explosion behind us. We almost made it to the woods, but then a shot hit us and the car flipped into a small gravel pit. I hit my head on the steering wheel as we landed. I felt warm liquid slowly run up my face. I was a bit stunned. I then realized that the liquid was my blood and that it was running up my face because the car was upside down. I turned around and looked at my friends.

"Is everyone okay?" I asked. They all nodded their heads. I then reached down- I meant up to unbuckle my seatbelt. As soon as I was free, I was forced to the top of the car. I turned around and opened my door. My friends started to do the same thing as me. They all landed on the roof of the car as I got out. I reached in and grabbed my backpack. My friends got their packs too. We then looked around and saw the ship that shot at us, land.

Kyle then said, "RUN!" and we all broke into sprints to try and get to the trees, and cover.

The creature that got out of the ship was abnormal, to say the least. I kinda slowed as I looked at it. The creature was almost 2 stories tall. It was almost a furry type creature, it had 2 horns and ears like a fox. Its face looked like a wolf face but it was also different. It was this purple color and it also had a long tail that looked like a mix of a lion and wolf tail. The creature was a mix of many different colors of purple. But it also had green strips along its side and also on its horns. It was also in almost full military-type-looking attire. It then spotted me and I started running faster. Carson was in last and the creature used its tail to wrap around Carson and take her into the air. I could hear Carson screaming to run. It then speedily ran and caught Hailey too. Kyle was behind me screaming curses and telling me to run faster. We then made it to the woods and both me and Kyle split up. I ran one way. Kyle the other.

I was on one side of a river. I remembered in the movie Predator that if I rubbed mud on myself and hid next to a tree, maybe he wouldn't see me. I did just that, I rubbed mud all over my clothes and skin. Then hid behind a tree. I could hear Kyle's screams as he probably was found. I could hear the alien stomping around. I closed my eyes, hoping that it would just pass by me or not see me. It then stood right in front of me. But I was covered by the tree. It huffed and growled. Probably not happy that it couldn't find me. I could hear it retreat to the ship with my 3 friends. It was gone, but to be sure, I didn't move for another 10 minutes.

After that, I left the security of the tree and slowly made my way back to the river. I washed off as much mud as possible before climbing up as much of the side of the canyon as I felt comfortable with. I couldn't see much but what I could see outside of the canyon was horrible. So much destruction. Smoking buildings and cars are on fire. Ships flying around everywhere. Landing and taking humans everywhere. The one who took my friends had indeed flown away. But everything was in chaos. People are being kidnapped everywhere and everything is being destroyed. I climbed back down and stayed in the cover of the trees. I had to make it to my grandfather's cabin if I wanted even a chance of surviving. He had weapons and food there. But it was 20 miles from where I was at that point. I would have to just hope to find places to sleep out without being found. I started hiking along the road in the trees, not knowing what would happen or even if I would even survive.
