The docks were crowded with people. Merchants, citizens, and foreigners flooded the small pier. Some people fishing, trying to get in the immigration line, some people simply watching from afar.
"Move! MOVE!"
The crowd shuffled quickly as the soldiers pushed people out of the way. A large ship slowly approached the docks waiting to lower its anchor. People gawked at the sheer size of the vessel and the large crew. The ship didn't help the strong gusts of winds that flowed through the lands. The sky wasn't clear but it wasn't cloudy either. The temperature was perfect. A great day for traveling. The sound of an anchor crashing through the water and the "thunk" of a wooden board being placed on the dock covered the sounds of mass chatter of the large crowd.
Anaka stood on the deck and glimpsed at the flocks of people. The chaos of the docks seemed charming almost. Excitement ran through her veins at just the idea of being Inazuma. Her tails began to wag wildly as she thought of all the plants and flowers that she will soon be able to run her fingers through.
"Ooohhh think of the weeds! The sakura blossoms will sure to be add a good taste to my medicine!" A wide grin grew on her face. "I wonder what those tea saps will be able to-"
"C'mon, Pretty Scales!" Beidou yelled into Anaka's ear, tearing Anaka from her imagination.
Anaka looked over her shoulder to notice Captain Beidou and some of the ship's crew were beginning to collect all the cargo and load them off onto the docks. Beidou had slung Anaka's backpack over her shoulder and her hand's tight grip on leather suitcase almost looked as though it would leave dents in it.
"Unless you want some locals looking through your stuff, I would suggest you get off the boat with your items in hand~" Beidou remarked with a hint of sarcasm seeping through her words. She shoved the heavy suitcase into Anaka's arms. "I would suggest you hurry to get in the line before some of the crew decides they like Inazuma too~" she commented as she pushed Anaka toward the planks of wood that lead to the docks.
"Thank you, Captain!" Anaka yipped as Beidou really did almost push her off the boat. Anaka turned around just in time to catch her backpack and swing it over her shoulder. "I really can't thank you enough, Captain Beidou!"
"Anytime, Pretty Scales~" Beidou replied loudly as she turned to get more cargo. "For real though, hurry up and go get in line!"
And with that Anaka made her way through the crowd... or tried to at least. As she slithered past (hehe), people kept stepping or tripping on her tail. With every step, she squirmed with pain. Finally tired of the crowd, she held her tail in one hand and her suitcase in the other.
The further she got closer to the village in front of her, she could hear more and more yelling from immigration control. "Make sure you have all documents out and prepared!" and "No exceptions will be made for lack of papers!" could be heard over and over again. The closer she got, the more her head ached from the constant commotion. But at last, she was next.
"Papers please, miss" the soldier at the table stated quickly almost to hurry the process.
"Yes yes, please give me one moment!" Anaka replied as she dropped her suitcase and backpack in search for her papers. Just as she pulled out the proper documents, her dendro vision fell to the ground with a thud. Terror filled Anaka's eyes as she could see the soldier at the table smirk.
"And I hope you got the proper papers for that too," he said toyingly. "I hope you know what happens if you don't-"
"I am sure I won't know what happens because I have all the necessary papers right here, sir," she interrupted as she slammed the stack of documents onto the table. "Thank you for the reminder though," she huffed.
