TO POST COVID-19

The global pandemic just doing the most in 2020 and putting lives at risk, hearts at a beat, and the world on its toes. Countries that could not be shaken got more than a shock, health care institutions got incapacitated to handle patients, and to say the least funeral homes were not spared. This dreaded year started like any other, things going on smoothly, people were excited to start a new year, children going back to school, businesses getting new propositions and new beginnings, so they thought until the first case was reported in China around December, this did not ring so many bells then, till mid-January and for most countries February. The shocking wave in town as many called it.

Now it has been two years since the covid-19 incidences most of which were fatal and tragic for those who had to lose their loved ones. It still fleets around as medical experts say, " This disease will not be living any time soon." Yes the monster has inhabited earth for a while and might continue to reign but what did it do to us, it left us with scars that are psychological, emotional, and most physical. We might get rid of it but still what it did will never be forgotten.

To begin with, psychologically those who suffered from Coronavirus have a different tale from one who just saw the wave choosing its victims. It was like an asthma attack when one could not breathe, tuberculosis when coughing, malaria when having high temperatures, and pains in the body to say the least fatigue that did not cease persisting. The fear of death each day could not stop haunting them, fear of stigmatization from their families. Furthermore, mentally those who had to lose their loved ones to coronavirus too had a lot on their minds, thinking of a breadwinner in your family dying was one among their worries, also taking care of the hospital bills and medication used all led to depression, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety attacks now and then.

Lastly, the economy suffered a great loss for most people individually and the government at large. Since the pandemic came at such a fragile time of the year businesses had to close down, schools had to be closed or attended with strict measures and other countries were put on lockdown.

Two years later this scenario has a major effect on our lifestyle and some have to strain their source of income to put food on the table. Fuel prices rose rapidly, and food products and everything that includes manufacturing have risen by over a dollar. Moverover, since the school calendar was also affected, parents have been forced to pay more than they used to before the new school calendar. Making life quite the living nightmare.

Who would have thought it would bring chaos and alongside, its after effects. The pandemic might have led to its disadvantages but it also had its positive impacts on others, giving the example of the renowned billionaire Ellon Musk. He got such a positive response from COVID-19 and to him and many others it was an uplifting moment, his online shop (Amazon) was the order of business, because due to lock downs in most countries people could not visit retail stores to buy what they needed thus opting to order making his business grow rapidly.

This pandemic might have been a blow to the world but what it definitely taught is that one may never know about tomorrow be it business, school or a certain lifestyle. But all i can say is i was grateful the ecosystem had a great time during the period, no gas emissions or cars all over the place, just a ecofriendly environment no matter how bad the times were and definitely people learned to maintain hygiene. Therefore hands up to post COVID-19.
