Rule #22: Recognition doesn't come by easy for residents

"D-do you happen to have a copy of this article?" She asked. The chief nodded.

"There is one in like every room on the surgical floor; He said, chuckling. He walked over to the nurse's station, grabbed an article, and handed it to them.

The front page read Annals of Surgery: The Future of Neuroscience, with a large picture of Jaehyun front and center.

"The future of neuroscience; Jaehyun Jung..." Camilla read between clenched teeth. She looked up at Jaehyun who couldn't keep the smile off his face.

"Jaehyun Jung at just the young age of 32 is on his way to getting rid of brain tumors. With the help of... Ms. Camella Johnssen, he came up with the ingenious idea and.." She scoffed softly, "did the necessary amount of research which brought him to inject live viruses into patients brains, shrinking the malignant tumors. Jaehyun Jung made the impossible possible" She mumbled, shutting the book. Jaehyun widened his eyes.

"I don't really see the point in congratulating the both of us, chief. I was only mentioned once, and not only did they call me Ms. Camella Johnsen instead of Doctor, they spelled both my first and last names wrong..." She scoffed, shoving the book into his hands.

"Congratulations Dr. Jung" She mumbled.

"Alright...... follow the light for me," She asked. Michelle slowly moved her eyes to follow the light. Camilla smiled. She put her hands out.

"Can you squeeze my hands," She asked. Michelle brought her hands out, squeezing them. Camilla chuckled to herself.

"Alright, Your examination went well. Your incision is healing perfectly. And now we are just waiting on your MRI. But I'm surprised to see how well you're recovering." She said. Michelle nodded.

"Yeah...I'm also shocked. I didn't think that it would work, no offense" She said. Camilla chuckled.

"I don't blame you. Jaehy- Uh I mean Dr.Jung was worried that you wouldn't make it. I mean doing two surgeries back to back... it's tough" She explained. Michelle nodded, looking down at her hands.

"How have you been doing since the shooting?" She asked. Camilla shrugged.

"I'm not sure. Everyone keeps asking me that and all I can say is that I'm still here. Everyone says I'm so strong and brave... I didn't do anything. Except for my job." She said. Michelle looked up at her.

"I say the same thing when people ask me about Matthew. But sometimes I want to just yell at them to leave me alone. Or say "yes. The very thing that caused the man that I love to die is the same thing that saved my life. Of course, I'm doing okay" She said, Camilla nodded, showing a sad smile.

"I know you are tired of hearing people tell you that they are sorry for your loss, So I'm sorry that you have to learn to live in a world where Matthew isn't in it," She said, Michelle nodded, pulling Camilla into a hug.

Camilla walked out of the room, bumping into Jaehyun.

"Oh hey... I-i was just on my way to go see her. How's she doing? I-is she alright?" He asked. She nodded.

"I mean she lost the love of her life... How alright can she be?" She mumbled. He sighed.

"I know I know... How are you holding up?" He asked. She shrugged.

"Look I didn't mean to blow up like that. I just didn't expect... any of that" She explained. He nodded.

"Hey, I totally get. I definitely did not expect any of this either." He exclaimed. She sighed.
