New Beginnings

1 ~ Veronica Hanks

October 2, 2131

The main doctor of The Ark, Abigail Griffin, is currently giving birth to twins. Abby is hidden in her home as she gives birth, because on The Ark having more than one child is punishable by death. Abby is surrounded by those she trusts most in the world to help keep her secret. Her husband, Jake Griffin, is by her side as he tries to soothe her. Her best friend, Natalina Hanks, is making sure the birth of the twins goes with out a hitch, while her husband Todd follows her every order. Then lastly is the newly appointed Chancellor, Thelonious Jaha, who is guarding the door. The cries of the first baby is heard, causing everyone to smile. Natalina passes the baby to her husband while she prepares for the next one. Five minutes later, the cries of the second baby are heard.
"They are beautiful little girls," Natalina says as she lays the babies in Abby's arms, causing Abby to smile down at them. "What are you naming them?"
"This one is Clarke," Jake answers as he picks up the baby, who had previously grabbed his finger and was the first born.
"Then this one is Veronica," Abby says with a sad smile as she looks down at her second born daughter. "Nat, I need you to promise me that you are going to take care of her."
"You know I will, I promise," Natalina promises as she takes Veronica from Abby.
"From this day forward, we will not talk about what happened here. Abby and Jake had one daughter named Clarke Griffin and on the same night Natalina and Todd Hanks also had a daughter named Veronica Hanks. Am I clear?" Jaha explains before they all nod in understanding before going their separate ways.

September 18, 2148

"Bye, Wells! Clarke, let's go! Our moms are going to kill us," Veronica calls as she exits Wells Jaha's home where they had been watching an old soccer game.
"I'm coming," Clarke says before exiting the home. "We are so going to be late." The girls share a worried look before taking off through The Ark, heading towards medical. As Veronica rounds a corner, she runs into somebody.
"I'm so sorry," Veronica apologizes as she pushes her hair out of her face. She could feel her face start to heat up as she sees a handsome boy in front of her.
"You're good. I wasn't paying attention," The boy says giving her a smile that made Veronica's knees grow weak. "I'm Bellamy. What's your name?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," Veronica says with a sly smirk.
"V, lets go!" Clarke says as she runs back grabbing her arm.
"See you around, B," Veronica says with a wink before running after Clarke. They reach medical before they are scolded for being late. That night Clarke hears some information that will change their lives for forever.

September 19, 2148

Jake Griffin is planning to go public with information about how The Ark is dying. Earlier that morning Clarke had confided in Veronica and Wells about her father going public. Veronica's 'parents', Todd and Natalina are standing with Jake as he records his message for the people of The Ark when Clarke and Veronica enter the room. The girls had decided to stand with their parents before the guard shows up. Abby had been against the idea and decided to trust Jaha when she turned in Jake, Todd, and Natalina. They were arrested for treason. Veronica and Clarke cling to each other and Abby as they watch their parents enter the airlock chamber. Veronica lets out a terrifying scream as her parents are floated before she drops to the floor as she cries. The guards go to Clarke arrest for treason for being a part of the plan before Veronica lashes out at the guards. She breaks one guards nose and knocks out another before a guard is able to shoot her with a knock out dart. Veronica is arrested for the assault of the two guards and for treason since she was in on the plan to tell The Ark.
