Chapter 2

When Jay drove Hailey and Lacie back too his house they all settled in as they where picking what to eat for dinner and Lacie decided that they should have Chinese & they agreed as they ordered it. After they have finished eating they gave Lacie a bath and before bed they let her have some ice cream after words they putted her to bed but she didn't wanna go too bed inside she wanted them to read her a story.

" sweetie it's like 9pm." Jay said
" I know daddy but just one story please?" Lacie asked as Hailey walked into her room
" Jay we don't have to go into work until 10 in the morning so I guess you could." Hailey said making him nodded
" ok only because you picked the best dinner." Jay said as Hailey smirked and Lacie giggled
" I never gotten a storytime before bed." Lacie said and they looked at her shocked
" why not princess?" Hailey asks
" because my foster parents are always busy always working, and always looking after their own kids like they don't have time for me." Lacie explained making her real parents cry
" oh sweetheart, we are so sorry for abandoning you." Jay said
" it's ok I know that you guys are busy too but you guys will have time for me! Will you?" Lacie asks
" Lacie Maya-Angelou Halstead of course we will have time for you even if we have work." Hailey said
" Yeah your mommy's right even if we have work we can cancel it early and spend the day with you." Jay said as their daughter smiled
" I love you mommy and daddy." Lacie said and they where shocked but smiled
" We love you too princess." Both of them said
" so what about this book?" Hailey asked as she got some out of her daughter's book shelf
" yes please." Lacie said as they both started reading the book to her until she feel asleep and both of them kissed their daughters head and they went to sleep themselves..

The next few days

" Hey princess, guess what." Jay said
" What daddy are we getting a puppy?" Lacie asked, she loves puppies
" almost close to that but no." Hailey said as their daughter looked confused
" I don't get it? I'm going back to school?" Lacie asked
" oh that will be a while before you can go back to school, but the thing is that." Jay said
" Me and daddy are getting together." Hailey said as they looked at their daughter with the happiest smile that they have ever seen
" Oh my gosh I can't believe that my parents are getting together." Lacie said
" and where also going to let you meet our team what do you think?" Jay asked
" aaaa I can't wait can we go now?" Lacie asks
" yes sure let's go." Hailey said as they putted their shoes on and they walked out the door into Jay's truck and head out too the district

At the district

" Hi Hailey and Jay who is this little cutie?" Trudy asks
" Sarge can you come upstairs with us well tell you." Hailey said as they walked up the stairs making their Sargeant nod as she walked up the stairs

( in the intelligence)

" guys stop working we have announcement to make." Jay said as they reached the stairs with Trudy
" finally so what's up?" Adam Ruzek asked
" Yeah I was almost done with my Aplyees but I can stop." Kim Burgess said
" well it's something about a little girl that Jay had found by the district." Hailey said as hank came out
" alright what about it? Did the doctors did an DNA test and found her parents?" Nadia Deticots asks
" well that's the thing where are her parents." Jay said and they were shocked
" Say what?" Both Trudy and Hank asked
" yep where her real parents!" Hailey said
" so not to be in your business or anything but what happened to her foster parents?" Vanessa Rojas asked
" Well you see..." Jay trailed off
