Yuu stumbled out from behind a row of lockers, hair disheveled, face flushing.
He sported a rumpled neckband and skin discolored to a deep purple on his exposed collarbone. To complete the look, a small amount of blood was smeared over his lips from Mika's biting and kissing.
"...Yuu?"
"Shin-Shinoa... what are you doing here?" Yuu asked her with a nervous laugh, awkwardly standing in the middle of the room.
She eyed the nervous boy suspiciously.
"What are you... why were you hiding? You don't look too good, actually."
"Is that so? Haha, must've been... uh, something... that happened at... my locker..."
Shinoa stood up and walked over to Yuu to examine his ruined appearance.
The boy looked around the room as if looking for escape routes, but he realized that even if he succeeded in getting away, Shinoa would most definitely give chase.
"Why's there blood on your lip?"
"N-no particular reason, really..."
"Well, I know that you're not a vampire, that'd be preposterous. Is it your blood?"
"Yea-
I mean,
that is to sa-"
"How'd it get there?"
"Uh-"
"Wait."
"...Wh-what?"
Things were finally starting to make sense; Yuu's marred look, his bashfulness, the swollen bloody lips...
"Is that vampire... what was his name... ah, is Mikaela around?"
Yuu's heart nearly stopped beating. How was he supposed to reply to that?
"Mi... ka? Well..."
Aha.
Shinoa smirked. One last piece of the puzzle was left to be put into place.
"Is your relationship with him... sexua- uh, romantic?"
"..."
Yuu wiped his lip as the cunning girl stared at him expectantly.
"...What kind of question is that?"
Puzzle complete.
Turning around on her heel, Shinoa walked back to her bench.
"Huuu~ I'll leave you two alone then... if Mikaela-kun is still around, anyway."
Before she could pick up her bookbag and skip proudly back home, Yuu called out to her.
"You won't tell-"
"Nah, I won't tell Guren-san. You know what would happen if he found out."
Yuu exhaled a sigh of relief before the girl continued,
"Although, I would also absolutely love to see how long you can keep this little secret of yours~"
Shinoa bounced out of the entryway, leaving the distressed boy muttering to himself about her unfairness.
"Yuu~"
Mika emerged from behind Yuu and wrapped his arms around him lovingly.
Yuu reddened, but looked towards his feet, pouting.
"...Why'd you have to do that, Mika?"
"I was just a little jealous. I had to make sure they knew you were taken," The vampire placed a chaste kiss upon his beloved's neck.
"... I hate you," the tomato-red boy mumbled under his breath, clinging on to Mika's encircling arms.
"Haha, I love you, too~"
