Another ten minutes passed by until they finally found something that captured their attention. The entire tunnel had been going straight the entire time, but now, a wide gap in the wall indicated that there was a corner for the six of them to turn. All six of them walked to the gap, and were met with another dead-end that only had these locker looking things. "Oh, you've gotta be shitting me." Valerie sighed. "Just when I thought we had finally gotten somewhere." Selina scoffed. "Okay, well.. let's try to look on the bright side." Robin suggested. "What is there on the bright side, exactly?" Selina questioned. "Well.. for starters, why don't we look at this as a milestone. I mean.. we haven't seen one of these our entire journey through this tunnel." Robin shrugged. She had a point, although Selina would never admit that. One thing about the blonde, is that she likes to think that she's never wrong. . "I agree with Robin. Maybe this is a sign.. or something." Valerie added. "A sign? Seriously?" Erica raised an eyebrow at Valerie. "You never know." Valerie put her hands up in defense of herself. "Shit. Guys, come on, come." Dustin whispered as loud as he could. "What? What's going on—" Valerie asked, but she had no time to finish her question before Steve put his hand over her mouth, carefully tugging her out of sight from the tunnel, and up against the wall of the dead-end they had found. It wasn't until then, that Valerie heard a small vehicle approaching the six. Valerie had at least ten million thoughts running through her mind. One thought being, what if the Russians saw any one of them? Another thought being, Steve Harrington's entire body was literally inches away from hers, and his hand was covering her entire mouth. Steve's eyes met hers, and he could tell that she was clearly caught off-guard by his sudden act. Steve's face was way too close to hers, and it didn't help that his eyes were practically glued onto hers. Valerie could see from behind Steve, the red vehicle that carried two men pass by slowly. All six of them remained in their frozen positions for about thirty seconds after the vehicle passed to ensure that they wouldn't get caught. Steve slowly removed his hand from Valerie's mouth, his eyes still remaining on hers. Considering Steve and Valerie were in the middle of the six of them, every single one of them had caught every frame of the scene taking place with the two. Dustin, Robin, and Erica all shared a look with each other, while Selina glared at both Valerie and Steve. Valerie finally broke the heavy eye contact between her and Steve, as Steve gave Valerie some space and backed away from her. Steve caught sight of Dustin, who had a wide, teasing grin displayed on his face. Steve smacked the back of Dustin's head, checking the tunnel for any Russians. "Okay, clear. Clear, come on, let's go." Steve nudged his head towards the tunnel, the five following him. "Okay, that was close." Robin sighed. "Too close." Dustin added. "Relax. Alright? Relax. Nobody saw—" Steve began, not bothering to finish his sentence due to the sight in front of him. Russians with massive guns were scattered across the room, along with women dressed in white uniforms and clipboards in their hands. "You were saying?" Valerie asked. An alarm went off, causing the six to rush over behind a tall box. "Jesus!" Steve sighed. "Red Dawn." Dustin whispered. "I saw it." Erica said. "First floor, northwest." Erica added. "Saw what?" Both Steve and Valerie asked in unison. "The comms room." Erica answered. "You saw the comms room?" Steve questioned, turning to look back at the room behind the six. "Correct!" Erica replied. "Are you sure?" Dustin asked. "Positive! The door was open for a second, and I saw a bunch of lights and machines and shit in there." Erica replied. "That could be a hundred different things." Dustin argued. "I'll take those odds." Robin said. "Yeah, it's not like we have much of an option." Valerie shrugged, which Steve shook his head, sighing in response to both Robin and Valerie. All six of them leaned forward just enough to see what was taking place in the room in front of them. "Alright. We're gonna move fast. We're gonna stay low, okay?" Steve looked at the five. "Yeah, yeah. Okay." Valerie nodded.

Every one of them ducked low, walking as fast as they could to get from one spot to another. They each stopped moving once they got to the stack of boxes, Steve pointing to where they were going next. They remained low as they started walking, heading towards a metal wall of some sort. "Move it!" Steve nudged his head forward. They each watched as a man left from inside one of the rooms, the door slowly beginning to close. "Let's go." Steve signaled for the five to follow him as he began to walk towards the door. Valerie genuinely thought they wouldn't reach the door on time before it would close, but to Valerie's surprise, Steve stopped the door just in time, almost getting his fingers smashed in the process. "Sh—sh!" Steve shushed the five. "Come on!" Steve held the door open. Valerie waited for Dustin, Erica, and Selina to go inside of the room before entering. Valerie's eyes immediately widened at the sight in front of her. A Russian man slowly began turning around on his chair, his eyes landing on the six. The man quickly took off his headset, immediately standing up as the six were frozen in place. Valerie immediately noticed how his hand began hovering over his gun, which made her heart jump in fear. Valerie put an arm over both Dustin and Erica, as Robin stepped forward, saying something in Russian to the man. The man appeared to be confused at Robin's words, his hand remaining over the gun. Robin looked back at the five, appearing to be desperate for some sort of help. But considering Valerie hadn't memorized a single Russian phrase from the recording, there was nothing she could do. The man scoffed, reaching for his gun before Steve began screaming, lunging forward at the man. Steve pushed the man against the chair, both of them falling forward before the man shoved Steve off of him. The man threw a punch right at Steve's face, which Steve barely dodged in time. The man yanked Steve by his uniform, turning Steve's entire body around, resulting in Steve landing onto the table with tons of buttons. The man grabbed Steve by his uniform once again, before Steve aggressively elbowed him in the groin, causing the man to stumble back. Steve took advantage of the man's small injury, grabbing a telephone and slamming it straight into the man's head. The man fell backwards, his head colliding with the edge of the counter, causing him to fall unconscious. Steve combed his hands through his hair, breathing heavily due to the fight that just took place. "Dude!" Dustin called out, his eyes wide at the scene that just took place. "You did it!" Dustin pointed to Steve, a grin growing on his face. "You won a fight!" Dustin exclaimed. Steve looked down at the unconscious man in front of him, a satisfied smile growing on his face. "I gotta give you credit. I really thought you were gonna get your ass whooped." Valerie chuckled. "I guess I can no longer tease you for your poor self-defense skills." Valerie sighed sarcastically. Considering Steve practically saved all of them from getting shot to death, I guess he deserved something in return. Dustin walked over to the man, reaching for the keycard on his uniform. "What are you doing?" Erica asked. "Getting us our ticket out of here." Dustin answered. "You want to walk all the way back?" Erica asked, sass in her tone. "Oh.. well, we can hang out for a little bit, relax, have a picnic maybe." Dustin shrugged sarcastically. "Have a picnic? We came here for the radio." Erica replied. "Well this plan is way better. If I knew Steve could knock out a Russian, that would've been our plan in the first place." Dustin argued. Valerie walked over to Steve, examining him for any injuries. "I'm surprised to say that there's no bruise in sight, well.. from what I can see." Valerie teased. She moved Steve's hair to the side, making sure he didn't have any serious injuries on his head. Although the way Valerie touched Steve's hair may've been unexpected by him, he surprisingly didn't mind. . "Anything?" Steve asked, referring to any injuries on his head. "Nope, nothing." Valerie shook her head. "Guys." Robin interrupted the two. "There's something up there." Robin pointed up the stairs that Valerie didn't even know existed. Steve and Valerie shared a look before following Robin up the stairs, along with Selina, Erica, and Dustin. Robin opened the door for the five, everyone quietly walking inside of the room. Valerie slowly approached the window to her left, Steve and Dustin following behind her. "Oh, my God." Valerie's eyes widened at the sight in front of her. Dustin was right. The Russians were connected to the Upside down. All six of them watched as bolts of electricity collided with the gate. The Russians were using the power coming from the electricity to forge open the gate.
