Today was Kuroo and Tsukishima's fourth anniversary. It was currently 9:20 a.m. and Kuroo was awoken by his alarm clock ringing. He groaned and turned it off before going back to sleep. Five minutes later it rang again and he let out an annoyed sound before turning it off and sitting up. Kuroo sat there in bed for a little while before getting up and heading to the bathroom.

Once he'd brushed his teeth and showered, he walked out to pick out an outfit. He took out a plain white shirt with a denim jacket and blue ripped jeans. He made sure his hair was dried before going out to the kitchen. He made himself some scrambled eggs with a glass of orange juice. He put the plate and glass on the table before he started eating.
He scrolled through his phone as he ate. It was now 10:30 a.m. Kuroo quickly finished his breakfast and washed the dishes before drying them and placing them back from where he got them. He then grabbed his phone, wallet, and house keys. He walked to the nearest store. Since it was his and Tsukishima's fourth anniversary, he had to get him something. He looked around for a bit, having a hard time deciding what to get him.

"Excuse me, would ya like some help?"

A worker at the store approached Kuroo after she'd noticed him having a hard time choosing.

"Ah, I was just having a bit of trouble picking a gift for my significant other. It's our fourth anniversary today."

"I see. Is there anything specific they'd like?"

"Well, he does like dinosaurs."

Kameko smiled and nodded before looking over to the shelf. She took a plushie that looked something like;

"Is this alright?"

"It's perfect!"

She handed the plushie to Kuroo as the ravenette smiled.

"I'll take it."

By the time Kuroo had purchased it, it was almost noon. Kuroo got back home and set the plush on the countertop. He then proceeded to make lunch for him and Kei for today. He decided some pasta would be nice and romantic and so, went with some pasta. Tsukishima should be here by somewhere like 1:30 p.m. Kuroo neatly set the table making sure it was all perfect. He took the plush and placed it on the table in front of where Tsukishima is supposed to be seated.

It was 1:20 p.m. now, ten more minutes until Tsukishima was here.1:25 p.m............................It was.... 1:35 p.m. now. Where is Kei? He's usually very punctual. It isn't normal for him to be late. Kuroo decided to wait a bit longer for him. He waited, and waited, and... waited. Kei never came and it was 2:00 p.m. already.

Kuroo checked his phone.

"No notifications..."

He said to himself. He scrolled through his contacts till he found a certain name. "Firefly". He pressed the button and waited. The phone rang... and rang... and rang... but no answer

"Come on, Kei... why won't ya answer?"

Tetsuro texted him.
Firefly, ya coming? Today at 2:04 PM
Moonshine, it's our fourth dating anniversary. Today at 2:04 PM
Kuroo was starting to get anxious. He tried texting again.
Moonlight, I miss ya Today at 2:05 PM
Moonlight, please. I miss ya. Ya haven't answered me for a year. Today at 2:06 PM
Kuroo felt tears fill his eyes. Oh... right. Tsukishima won't respond to him. Not anymore...
Tsukishima Kei wasn't here anymore. He had left. He was dead. Tsukishima Kei was killed brutally during a school shooting during his last year of High School. That day was Kuroo and Kei's third anniversary. They had planned to meet after Kei was finished with school but unfortunately... they were never able to see each other. They weren't able to go out on a date that day. Why? Because a few jerks decided to shoot the poor blond. Unfortunately, he hadn't survived.

Tears rapidly fell down the former middle blocker's face as the brutal truth was reminded to him. Tsukishima was no more. That was the brutal truth. His boyfriend, whom he loved so much was dead. There was no way in hell Kuroo would ever stop loving Kei. He could never forget him. Never stop loving him. Instead, he'd rather suffer when being faced with the truth.

Tetsuro knew there was no use crying since it wasn't going to bring Kei back. However, he couldn't help crying. He couldn't stop the tears. He wasn't able to hold them. Kei used to be here for Kuroo whenever the male had broken down due to an overwhelming amount of stress. But now... he had no one that could reassure him. He was all alone.

Tetsuro was going to spend this anniversary alone, again. Crying, sobbing, suffering, and comforting himself. He always thought that their anniversary was the happiest, luckiest, and best day ever. He'd used to spend this specific day so happily, so cheerfully with Tsukishima. Now, he spent this very day crying, having panic attacks, and being alone with no one there for him.

He knew he was never getting Kei back. He knew he was never going to see the blond boy again. He knew all that. He knew he'd have to stay with this brutal truth for the rest of his life until he died. This wasn't... fair. None of this was fair.

Kuroo stayed seated on the chair and continued crying for the rest of the day. He hadn't moved from there. He just stayed there, hugging the plush he had bought earlier, and sobbed.

Kei... was never coming back.
