1. Returning back 'home'

(Melanie's Pov)

Me and belly were finally on summer break and could enjoy not having to wake up early anymore.
"So Mel do you still have a crush on Jeremy?" Taylor asks me while me and belly pack.

"Oh god I totally forgot about that" I say as I cringe at my crush on Jeremiah. "Sure you did even after you gave him the biggest kiss last summer" belly said as she laughed. "Oh shut up belly aren't you like practically in love with Conrad?" I said messing with her. "No I-" belly was then cut off

Then we heard "Hurry up we are leaving girls!" From downstairs. "Ugh I don't wanna you guys to leave" Taylor said as she got up from the bean bag on the floor. "I know we won't see you until our birthday" I whine. "Group hug!" Belly yells as she practically tackles me and Taylor.

"Melanie! Isabelle! Let's go now!!!" We hear mom yelling from downstairs. "I think maybe we're leaving" I said sarcastically. "Yeah maybe" Taylor adds as we laugh and hug. "Okay both of you guys promise me something okay?" Taylor told us. "Yeah sure what's up?" Belly's answered. "Both of you guys have to kiss your 'not crushes'" she said with the biggest smile on her face.

"Sureeee" belly answered as we walked downstairs and outside to the car. We put our bags in the back and then got in. We waved goodbye to Taylor and there we were already on our way back to where I call 'Home'. It was just someone about the air change and the beach that made me feel like me.

(Jeremiah's Pov)

I was in bed trying to take a nap because I couldn't get any sleep last night due to how excited I was. Me and Melanie had kissed last summer the night before they left and we haven't talked since then. I don't know why, I would have texted her first but I just couldn't and I couldn't figure it out.

It's not like if I liked her or anything. Well at least that's what I'm telling myself. "UGH" I groan into my pillow because I can't sleep. I stand up and walk out of my room. As I am walking in the hallway I come across Melanie's room and walk in. I look onto the her nightstand and see she still has the bracelet I gave her 5 years ago for her 10th birthday.

Right as I picked up I heard my mom yell from downstairs. "They're here!" I put the bracelet down and run downstairs. But that's when I saw her... Melanie. She was prettier then ever, her and belly didn't have their glasses anymore or their braces.

I smile at her as I run up to her and give her the biggest hug. Then I remember 'shit we haven't talked' I thought to myself as I set her down. "Sorry" i laugh nervously. "You're good, I missed you Jere" she said as she messed up my hair.

"Well in my personal opinion I think braces made you look adorable" I jokingly said. "Ew god no" she laughed. I then made my way over to Steven. We did our traditional hand shake and then he whispered into my ear "it's belly flop time" he said.

"You guys know what time it is?" I said as belly responded "no... wait! No!" Conrad and Steven picked up belly as I picked up Melanie. "BELLYFLOP!" I yell as we through them into the pool.

(Melanie's Pov)

I was in my room un packing when I get a knock at the door, "come in!" I say expecting Jeremiah to walk when when it was actually Conrad. "Oh hey Connie what's up?" I ask him. "Can we um talk?" "Yeah sure sit down" as he closes the door and sits down on my bed.

"Look I have to confess 2 things but... I can only confess one of them and you're the most trustworthy person I have" he said as he scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah what's wrong" "well look don't tell jere I told you but he told me about that whole kissing situation from last year but I want to talk to you about um..." "belly?" I questioned him.

"Yeah..." he said. I tried to hide my smile as best as I could and couldn't wait to tell belly. "Just don't Tell her okay?!" He said, well there goes telling belly. "Yeah yeah I won't just tell me" "Well I kinda have like a feeling for her and I just want to get rid of it because I know she likes me too and I don't want to hurt her. I would never want to hurt belly. It's just that I ruin everything good I ever had and all I have is you guys and I don't want to mess that up because how do you tell your best friend you love them in a strong way-"

Well from what I can see on his face as he was ranting maybe that just escaped his lips. And to be honest this was totally unlike him. He likes playing the 'mysterious guy' roll. But I was so happy to hear he liked her! "Shit, please don't Tell anyone mel" he tries to hide his embarrassment. "Don't worry Conrad I'm actually happy you trusted me enough to tell me" I smile at him when Jeremiah just comes rushing in.
