I grinned in response, sharing in Jessica's excitement. "I know, right? It's like stepping back in time to explore China's rich history and culture. I can't wait to see the ancient architecture and artifacts," I replied, my own excitement growing with each step.

Harry nodded eagerly, his enthusiasm infectious. "Exactly! And just imagine all the stories behind those towering walls and majestic halls. It's going to be like walking through a living history book," he exclaimed, his voice filled with wonder.

As I strolled peacefully towards school, my thoughts interrupted by a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to find Meiying standing there, greeting me with a smile.

"Meiying, good morning," I greeted her warmly, reciprocating her bright expression. "And good morning to you as well, [Name]," she replied cheerfully.

Her question caught my attention. "Are you excited?" she inquired, referring to our upcoming trip. I nodded eagerly, my excitement evident. However, Meiying's eyes then shifted to my attire. "But why aren't you in your uniform?" she wondered aloud.

I sighed and explained, "I don't wear the uniform. They gave me a skirt, and it's just not my style." Meiying burst into laughter, finding amusement in my response. She playfully snaked her arm around mine, a gesture of camaraderie.

The conversation took a turn as I brought up Cheng. "So, I saw Cheng last weekend, and apparently, he's been doing kung fu," I shared, a hint of concern in my voice. Meiying let out a sigh, acknowledging my statement.

"How long has he been training?" I asked, hoping to gain some insight into his capabilities.

"He's been training kung fu since he was five," Meiying replied, her response sending a shiver down my spine. The realization that Cheng possessed formidable martial arts skills intensified my unease.

"That's why he's a bully, because he knows kung fu," I commented sarcastically, masking my apprehension with humor.

Meiying offered a suggestion, concerned for my well-being. "You know what, you should tell Mrs. Po so he can leave you alone," she suggested. I shook my head in response.

"No, I can handle myself. I don't want to burden Mrs. Po, and I'll avoid him for as long as I can," I explained, determined to navigate the situation on my own terms.

Meiying then proposed an alternative approach. "Maybe you should consider changing your appearance, so he'll leave you alone," she suggested. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her suggestion, feeling a mixture of annoyance and defiance.

"Changing my appearance won't change who I am," I replied, my tone firm. "Besides, I shouldn't have to alter myself just to avoid someone like Cheng. I'll figure out a way to deal with him without compromising who I am."
