As I found myself at Mrs. Wang's shop, preparing to embark on a trip to the Forbidden City, she couldn't help but voice her disapproval of my clothing choices. "I hate it when I see you dress like that," she pouted, her dissatisfaction evident on her face. I chuckled in response, not taking her complaint too seriously, and she continued to express her dissatisfaction.
"There's nothing wrong with my clothes as long as I'm comfortable," I explained, attempting to assuage her concerns. However, my response only seemed to intensify her pouting.
Glancing at my wristwatch, I realized that it was time for me to head to school. With a playful smile, I added, "I know how beautiful I am, Mrs. Wang, but wearing dresses is not my style." Her eyes rolled in response to my comment.
Mrs. Wang scoffed and smirked mischievously. "I swear you will wear a dress, not now, but soon, very soon," she said with a childlike tone, playfully challenging my fashion choices. I approached her, a gleam of anticipation in my eyes. "Okay, I'll wait for that," I replied, matching her playful spirit. "But for now, I really need to go, Mrs. Wang. We're going to the Forbidden City," I added, grabbing my bag to indicate my readiness to depart.
She leaned forward and planted a gentle kiss on my cheek. "Take care, beautiful flower," she bid me farewell, her affectionate words warming my heart. I waved goodbye and darted off, eagerly making my way to school, filled with anticipation for the adventure that awaited me at the historic Forbidden City.
As I strolled peacefully towards school, my thoughts interrupted by a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to find Meiying standing there, greeting me with a smile. "Meiying, good morning," I greeted her warmly, reciprocating her bright expression. "And good morning to you as well, [Name]," she replied cheerfully. Her question caught my attention. "Are you excited?" she inquired, referring to our upcoming trip. I nodded eagerly, my excitement evident. However, Meiying's eyes then shifted to my attire. "But why aren't you in your uniform?" she wondered aloud.
I sighed and explained, "I don't wear the uniform. They gave me a skirt, and it's just not my style." Meiying burst into laughter, finding amusement in my response. She playfully snaked her arm around mine, a gesture of camaraderie.
The conversation took a turn as I brought up Cheng. "So, I saw Cheng last weekend, and apparently, he's been doing kung fu," I shared, a hint of concern in my voice. Meiying let out a sigh, acknowledging my statement. "How long has he been training?" I asked, hoping to gain some insight into his capabilities.
"He's been training kung fu since he was five," Meiying replied, her response sending a shiver down my spine. The realization that Cheng possessed formidable martial arts skills intensified my unease. "That's why he's a bully, because he knows kung fu," I commented sarcastically, masking my apprehension with humor.
Meiying offered a suggestion, concerned for my well-being. "You know what, you should tell Mrs. Po so he can leave you alone," she suggested. I shook my head in response. "No, I can handle myself. I don't want to burden Mrs. Po, and I'll avoid him for as long as I can," I explained, determined to navigate the situation on my own terms.
