Upon further examination, I have determined that The Bruise was not caused by a fall.
I'm not sure what kind of falls Luke had taken before, but this was way too big to be caused by a fall. It just didn't add up.
I still have no clue how it happened.
Why did Luke lie to me? That was what gave it away, really. His bright blue eyes held an expression of fear when I merely asked if he was okay -- he could barely meet my own eyes. Then he bolted after his very vague answer.
I know that Luke is lying. I also know that Luke doesn't have any friends around here, so I am damn well determined to change that.
I will know the source of that Bruise soon.
