He's totally a ghost. 100% a ghost. And he's haunting me for whatever karma related reason. Was this punishment for sticking peanut butter in Adam's ear when we were in third grade? Maybe that time I set the kitchen on fire trying to make brownies when I was ten? What was the reason??

"Woah, what's this?" Peter snapped Billie out of her spiraling thoughts as he picked up her phone, studying it with the most confused look she'd ever seen on a human.

"That," Billie practically leapt off her bed, snatching the item out of his hand. "Is mine. It's a phone. Haven't you ever seen one before?"

Peter shook his head, turning to look at the tall old fashioned lamp over her bed. "And what's this? How did you.. enslave light in this.." He poked the lampshade, letting it sway for a second. "Thing. I don't see a candle in there."

Billie blinked. This guy can't be for real. "You seriously don't even know what a lamp is?? Are you from medieval times or something?" Peter gave her a confused look that answered her question, and she rolled her eyes. "Right. Should've known that. And how are you touching things if you're a ghost? Shouldn't you like.. phase through stuff?"

"For the last time, I'm not a ghost." His voice was clearly exasperated, tired of repeating himself. "I've already explained this. I'm Peter Pan, I'm magically projecting myself from Neverland to you. And as I am fully in control of the projection, I can chose who can see me and between being able to touch things and being able to 'phase through stuff'." He used air quotes, mocking her different, less frilly way of speaking.

"Yeah, right. That's what all ghosts say cause they haven't really accepted that they're dead." She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, a look of pity on Billie's face and a look of frustration on Peter's. "It's okay, you'll accept it soon. And then you'll like.. go into the light or whatever. I really don't know, honestly, all I have to go on is five seasons of 'Ghost Whisperer'-"

"Billie, please stop talking." Peter stressed, grabbing her by the shoulders to stop her from rambling. It stopped her from talking, but it didn't deter her from thinking he was a ghost in denial.

"Look, why would you even be haunting me? I don't think I've ever met you before. I'd definitely remember you-" Billie stopped herself, painfully aware that she'd just indirectly called a ghost hot, and she cleared her throat before continuing. "So... What's so important about me?"

Peter, also very aware that she'd indirectly called him hot, gave the smallest chuckle and smiled at her proudly. "I'm not haunting you, I'm here for something else. You're far more important than you know, Willow."

"Don't call me that." She bit out. "And could you please stop being so dramatic and just tell me what you want already?"

"Willow?" He tilted his head. "That's your name, isn't it?"

Billie shook his hands off of her, crossing her arms and moving to plop down on her bed. "On my birth certificate, maybe. To you, and everyone else, I'm Billie."

Peter put his hands up in surrender, pursing his lips. "As you wish. Anyway, I've been sent here to tell you of your destiny. Billie, you've been called to do something amazing. Something no one else can do but you-"

"Spit it out, Shakespeare."

Peter's lip twitched. "Fine. Magic is in danger.. it's being snuffed out by the unbelief in all the realms. You have the heart of the truest believer, and you are prophesied to save it."

Billie fell back on her bed, burying her head in all the pillows. "Well. That's.. something."

"That's quite an unenthusiastic reaction to being told you're the savior of magic." Peter crossed his arms, leaning on the dresser behind him. "Should you not be more excited?"
