"Cause him and Dustin follow me around school.. like everyday"

"Aren't you guys friends though?" You confusingly looked at her while completing one of the placements of metal.

"Yea.. so?"

You paused.

"Don't worry, the names are just a joke." She reassured me as I giggled a little bit.

"That's a funny nickname." You stated grabbing another board that was handed to you, when you heard another crash of metal. You looked up and it was Steve.

"That should be enough." He looked at us placing his hands on his hips.

Me and Max paused. Steve sensing the uneasiness.

"Okay I'm going to get the gas cans." He mentioned while walking off in the distance.

"So.." Max looked at me smirking.

"Is that your boyfriend?"

"No." You smiled at the metal you were securing.

"Are you sure?" She interrogated.

"Im sure." You looked back at her as she passed you another piece of metal, then focusing on Steve in the distance pouring trails of gasoline around the junkyard, then concentrating on putting the metal board on the bus.

"Okay I think we're done here."

"Yep." She said proudly then giving you a high five.

"Alright so the rest of the metal sheets are for the inside."

"I know." She said smartly.

"And we need some more tires for the top of the bus."

"I knowww." She said annoyingly.

"I"m going to go help Steve, you should help Lucas with inside the bus.." You smirked as you started walking towards Steve as she rolled her eyes at you.

As you reached Steve, he was staring at some barrels.

"Barrels?" You asked puzzled,

"Yea, you mind helping me?" He said as sweat dripped down his hot face.

"Of course." You said without hesitation.

As we rolled the barrels towards the bus the kids saw and joined in. Once we had all our collected barrels, we placed them around the bus as a sort of stabiliser for all the secured pieces of metal.

I saw the boys do something and walked over to Max.

"Ooo, did you guys make out.." You said jokingly.

"Shut up." She blushed as she let out a faint giggle but we were once again interrupted by Steve.

"C'mon ladies, I think we're finished." Steve uttered.

Dustin climbed the step of the bus followed by Lucas, then Max.

"You coming?" Steve asked,

"Yea give me a sec." You mumbled adjusting a piece of metal on the bus.

"Okay done." You said proudly walking over to Steve who was at the entrance of the bus.

"After you." He said holding his hand out. You held it as you stepped onto the bus, Steve accompanying the rest of the group soon after, closing the metal bus door behind him.

-time skip-

The sun had set and it was pitch black.

"I'm going up." Lucas called.
