"Alright class, that is the end of todays lecture. Don't forget next week Friday is this semester's final exam, that means studying not partying if you want to pass my class. Everybody enjoy your weekends and see you Monday" Professor Mendoza says as he starts to pack up his briefcase.

"Oh. My. Gosh. You'll never believe what just happened" I heard Charlie say as she starts walking up behind me

"Um yeah cool just give me one second" I say clearly busy. I love Charlie she's one of the best friends anybody could ever have but she's not the best at picking up social ques. I always feel bad when this happens because I never want to hurt her I'm just always doing stuff.

"Oh um ok, I'll just wait here then" she says as I start walking towards our professor.

"Um hi professor Mendoza" I say to him. I clearly startled him because he immediately shot up from putting his laptop away and turned to face me.

"We'll if it isn't Mrs. Serenity Hayes" he says as if I'm some sort of celebrity. I guess he's always been kinda weird like that.

"Yep that's me" I say awkwardly "anyways what I came over here to talk about is what if we don't do too good on the exam? Like will I take your class again next semester or do I have to wait a whole year"

"Well I mean you CAN take my class again next semester but I doubt you'll need to, you're one of the top students in this class!" He says as if that means something. I currently have an -A so I don't think that's a good grade.

One thing I guess you should know about me is I have a big fear of failure and to me anything below an A is bad. I feel like I'll let someone down if I do so. I don't know what it is but I've always kinda just felt this way. Especially after my sister got accepted into an Ivy League college and my parents started pushing us to do well in school more and more.

"Okay yeah maybe I am but let's say I have no time to study and I totally fail it or I think I could have done better do I retake the class?" I say kinda frantically

"Serenity" he says putting his hands on my shoulders to calm me down. "You are going to do good you have no reason to be worried. And let's say for some odd reason you think you did bad, since you're one of my favorites I'll let you retake the test and you can pick whichever score you want to be the one I submit into the grade book. Okay?" He asks as my shoulders visibly loosen

"Okay. Thank you so much!" I say smiling at him

"Of course. Now go enjoy your weekend. I've never met one student who stays behind on a Friday to talk to their teachers. Now goodbye." He says as I start waking out of the room and towards Charlie who's just standing in the doorway smiling at her phone.

"We'll somebody seems oddly happy" I say making her snap her head up and throw her phone into her pocket "who is it" I say nodding towards her phone now in her pocket.

"Uhm. I. Uh. Um. Wait" she stutters as we start walking down the hallway "how do you know?! Did someone tell you?!" She says frantically
