Hello everyone! I want to thank you for deciding to read my story. But most importantly, I want to warn you. I'd say the first 15-ish chapters were written during my... "carrot" stage. And also towards the beginning, I was a horrible writer. But as you read you can see how me and my writing matures, and I become a better writer! This book is the first in a three book series so I hope you're prepared! Thanks again!
Chapter 1: I Hate School
I moaned at the sound of the alarm going off. I rolled onto my other side and slapped my hand down on the off button. I propped myself up on one elbow and turned on the lamp next to my bed. I groggily climbed out of bed, cold air hitting my legs. I quickly pulled on my skinny jeans for the rest of the day, tossed off my sleeping shirt and replaced it with a baggy striped sweater. I threw my socks on, followed by my everyday black converse.
I ran the silver hair brush through my tangled, light brown hair. My hair was a very odd color. Blonde, but it had so many light brown highlights that in some lights it looked brown. I have no idea where I got my blonde hair because my parents both have brown hair.
I put deodorant on and sprayed myself with perfume. I had a shower right before bed so I didn't need one this morning. I shoved my iPod into my pocket, along with some earbuds. I grabbed my phone and noticed that I had a new message. I quickly opened it, reading each word with wide eyes.
"No!! No, no, no!" I shouted, ramming my phone into my pocket. I grabbed my binder, books and pea-coat.
I picked up the toast set on the counter and devoured it in seconds.
"Bye Sam!" I yelled, kissing my eight year old brother's head. Our dad worked very hard, and had to leave early every morning. That left my brother to have to grow up and get used to caring for himself at a very young age. I really felt bad for him, but I couldn't help that our mom walked out on us.
I ran through the white door, hopped down the brick steps and sprinted down the hill. I ran past the old abandoned gas station, ignoring my cat meowing from behind. I wasn't allowed to have a cat, so I kept it in the storage room there. I even had Cam's uncle install a doggie door so she could come and go as she pleased.
The text was from my bestfriend, Cameron. He lives right down the road from me, so when he gets the bus he warns me that it's coming. I saw the yellow bus out of the corner of my eye.
I watched as the bus came to an abrupt stop, and then very slowly, inching forward. The bus was going about four miles an hour. I caught my breath at the pickup spot.
The bus finally reached me, opening its little doors. I saw Paul, the bus driver, grinning at me. He was probably in his 70s, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him.
I glared at him as I climbed the steps.
"You mad bro?" He asked, chuckling.
"I ain't even mad." I mumbled, walking away. I heard everyone laughing, so I quickly plopped down in the seat in front of Cameron. He laughed, lightly punching my shoulder.
"Judging by the crumbs on your mouth, you rushed."
"Ha Ha. Very funny." Note the sarcasm.
I plugged my earbuds in and hit shuffle for my Playlist listed as; One Direction. My all-time favorite band. The band that held my future husband; Louis Tomlinson.
"Oo! Can I listen?" Cameron motion towards the second earbud. I rolled my eyes and handed it to him. He clapped and took it. I am so lucky; my bestfriend is the biggest guy Directioner ever. We could talk about them anytime without him calling them 'gay' or 'worst singers to ever walk the planet'. We were so close it was unbelievable.
