Y/N,

It is time we end our relationship.  I really thought I could do the long distance thing but I can't.  You deserve better than me.

Bucky

She sits on her couch reading those three sentences over and over again.  When what she is reading sinks in, her laptop slides off her lap onto the floor.  She never thought when the Army deployed Bucky to a war zone six months ago he would end things.

She is not sure how long she lays on her couch sobbing before Nat's face was in hers.

"Y/N, what's wrong," she asks, trying to not let panic set in at the sight of her best friend sobbing uncontrollably.

Y/N can't say anything so she just points to her laptop.  Wanda picks up the laptop and gasps when she reads the email on the screen.  She walks over to Nat and nudges her shoulder.  Nat looks up and reads the words.  Anger flashes through her but she knows that isn't what Y/N needs right now.  Nat sits on the couch and pulls Y/N to her.  Y/N curls into Nat as the tears continue to fall.

"Call Vision and Bruce and tell them we aren't going to be able to meet them," Nat says softly.

Wanda makes the calls before heading to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.  She sits on the other side of Y/N on the couch and hands her the bottle to drink.  Y/N takes a big drink before handing it back to Wanda.  Nat and Wanda sit there all night on the couch, holding Y/N as she cries.

11 Months Later

"Come on, Y/N.  Wanda and Vision just want us to go out with them for a couple of drinks to celebrate," Nat says.

"Nat...," she starts.

"It's been eleven months.  You can't let him keep you from living your life, sweetie," Nat says.

"I know," she says, taking a deep breath.  "Okay, I'm coming."

Nat helps her choose dark jeans, light pink lace tank top, black leather jacket, and black booties.  Nat puts Y/N's hair in a ponytail and applies minimal makeup.  They both look in the mirror and Y/N can't believe her reflection.  She has definitely lost weight but she almost looks like her old self.  She hugs Nat.

"Thank you, Nat.  I'm sorry I have been wallowing for so long," she says.

"Stop that.  Everyone grieves in their own time.  I'm just glad you are finally starting to come back to us," Nat says, hugging her tightly.  "Now let's go celebrate with our friends."

"Wanda! Vision!  Congratulations on your engagement.  I am so happy for you," Y/N says, hugging Wanda then Vision when she arrives at the bar.

"Are you okay," Wanda asks.

"I am.  I am honestly really happy for you both," Y/N assures her.

She, Wanda, Nat, Bruce, and Vision are sitting at a table near the back of the bar.  She's trying her best to smile and laugh with her friends but it's tough being the fifth wheel.  After a couple of drinks, Nat tries to get Bruce to go dance with her.  When Bruce won't dance, Nat drags Y/N out on the dance floor. After a few dances with Nat, she's finally loosening up and having fun. They head back to the table and notice that everyone needs refills.

She goes to the bar to grab drinks for the table. While she's waiting for her order she looks around the bar and she sees Sam and Steve hitting on some girls by the pool table. She didn't know they were back. If they are back, Bucky must be back too. She looks around quickly and sees him walk up to his friends.  He laughs at something one of them says.

"Hey Sally, can you have one of the waitresses bring the drinks to our table? I'm suddenly not feeling well and I'm heading home," she says to the bartender.
