You and Alcina Dimitrescu grew up together and were very close leading up to her singing career in the States. You became an advisor and personal bodyguard to her and helped out with most of the backstage happenings.
Your parents always taught you of health issues and the specific one that Alcina had, having wanted you to look out for her, which you always did without question. When she had her health crashes, you stayed with her and helped her with whatever she needed because you loved her and she loved you.
One day, you walked to her dressing room and knocked, not saying anything as you were a woman of few words.
"...Y/n/n?"
That was your cue to go in and as soon as you saw her hunched over her desk with her head in her hands, you grabbed a glass of water and her pain medication. You went to her side and sat them down in front of her and put a gentle hand on her shoulder, Alcina putting one of hers on top of yours, squeezing it tightly.
"Thank you, my dear. I do not think I should perform tonight." Her rich, exhausted voice muttered.
You hummed and met her beautiful blue eyes in the mirror, setting your chin on top of her dark curls. "I will stand by your decision, bubba. Your health above performances, remember?"
Alcina's eyes slipped closed in bliss, drowning in the comfort you provided. Listening to your voice soothed her to no end, especially since you never spoke much. Then she chuckled, "I remember. You really will not let that nickname go, will you?"
You shook your head and gave her a lopsided smile, one that just made the pale woman swear she fell more in love with you. You were gorgeous inside and out and by the heavens did she want to take you with her to the places she didn't want to go.
But she needed to keep you safe and get better on her own.
As you both leaned against each other and swayed to the faint music in the room, she silently had to convince herself that she was making the right decision when she faced you, but she couldn't. She knew that when the day came, she'd have to force herself to leave because she would stay if you simply asked her to.

Later that night, you're wide awake, feeling a bit melancholic as you walked through your small house. You gazed at the different photographs and paintings that littered your walls and only stopped in front of the one you loved the most. You, Alcina, Bela, Cassandra and Daniela all sat happily together, holding each other close. Cassandra sat in your lap while Daniela sat in Alcina's. Bela was in the middle with each arm wrapped around you and her mother.
You smiled as pride swelled in your chest, thinking about your little family. The girls had been adopted as babies and you were there through it all with them. You knew they'd grow up to be powerful, good women and you wouldn't miss that for the world.
Or so you thought.

The day finally came when she had to leave. You stood with Alcina and watched solemnly as the carriage pulled up. When it stopped, you turned to her and wrapped her in a bear hug, careful to not press into any of her bruises. You loved her so much and you felt your heart grow heavier and heavier as the weight of your goodbye came to a close.
Alcina couldn't stop the tears, no matter how hard she tried. She was terrified of what her new journey would bring, but she had to do it. Your seven foot frame made her harden her resolve. She would return to you, no matter how long her treatment took.
When you eventually unwrapped yourself from her, she almost started crying all over again. She hadn't seen you cry since you were both in diapers many many years ago and, seeing you do so then, made something else in her break. The reality of what was happening finally hit her then and there, but she forced herself to kiss your cheek and press her forehead to yours, you having leant down, before getting inside the carriage. If she didn't leave now, she'd change her mind.
"Don't forget me, bubs." You tearfully smiled and tipped your hat to her. That was the last core memory she had of you, standing there watching her carriage ride off. The look on your face made her bury her face in her hands and sob.

"Miss L/n, I'm afraid that your memories have been permanently damaged in the accident." Dr. Stevens said.
You sighed dejectedly. "It's been months and nobody has looked for me?"
Dr. Stevens shook his head, "No, darling. However, I received a package meant for you and it contained a vial of sorts. The sender goes by the name of 'Miranda'."
You hummed, frowning while studying the small bottle. It contained glowing liquid and looked cool. Without a second thought, you opened and chugged it.
"Y/n! We don't know what that was!"
You shrugged and grinned at your doctor. "What do I have to lose, anyway?"
Doctor Stevens sighed and led you out of the clinic, sending you worried glances. "If you experience any pain or other strange symptoms, come to me immediately, yes?"
You nodded at him and walked away, feeling completely fine.

A few days passed since then and you were definitely NOT fine. You somehow found yourself far away in the wilderness with your bones and entire human structure changing itself from the inside out. You were in a great deal of pain and couldn't move for hours on end. You went in and out of consciousness and when you finally were able to stay awake, you found yourself feeling...heavier. Your senses were sharper and despite it being pitch black outside, you could see as if it were daylight.
You felt stronger and refreshed. It was as if your body had broken down and rebuilt itself overnight. The thing that weirded you out even more was the fact that your forearms seemed to have extra bones, but you didn't know what for. When you felt around, the extra bones seemed to resemble blades of some sort.
But...how?
Quickly accepting that you had changed into something unknown and predatory, you stumbled your way through a lot of woods and forests for the first few days, soon finding a pack of mountain lions well into your journey. They didn't attack you and let you hunt with them and you learned how to do a lot of things that felt natural. Soon enough, you were back on your own and decided to keep traveling until you could remember more about yourself and who you were before your accident.
Deep in your heart, you felt a weight. You knew something was waiting for you, but you just couldn't place what it was. There seemed to be something pulling you in a specific direction and not knowing any better, you followed your gut.
What else could you possibly do?
Despite being alone, you held hope that you wouldn't be once you found what you were searching for.
