Part 8: The Search For Eddie Munson

     Steve and I ran outside, flipping the sign to closed. We hopped into his car and he handed me the walkie. "Talk to them. Find out where he is." Steve gave me a serious look so I pressed down the button. "Eddie? Eddie, It's Robin and Steve. Where are you? We're coming. Over." I let off the button. Please Eddie, have your walkie with you. "Robin?" I heard Eddie's voice come over the radio. Steve looked over at me, so I spoke again. "It's me. Where are you Eddie?" It was silent for a moment before it cracked. "Skull Rock." Eddie spoke quietly. "We're coming! You're okay!" Dustin called back and I sat the walking down. Steve pressed the pedal and we started to Skull Rock. 

      We met up at Skull Rock with the rest of the gang. Nancy drove the kids. Steve jumped out of the car and raced into the woods. He didn't even look at Nancy or the kids. We followed after him as it was a Code Red. "Munson! Munson!" Steve yelled out. "Eddie! Eddie!" I yelled followed by the kids. We ran through the woods until we made it to Skull Rock. Eddie was sitting under the rock. "Eddie..What happened?" Steve bent down near him. "I guess I did the thing that I do now which is run away!" He threw up his hands and I looked at him upset. "We see that but why?" He looked up at us. "They released my name man! I'm so fucked!" I looked back at everyone. "No, no you're not fucked...I hid El and we can hide you." Mike smiled stepping forward. El shook her head in a nod. "Friends don't lie." She smiled and stepped forward. Eddie looked up at us. "Just don't run away again dude." Steve extended his hand to help Eddie up. He took it and jumped up. Dustin was staring off. "Is he uh, okay? He's not possessed or anything?" Eddie looked at Steve worried. "Possessed? No. Mental? Absolutely." Steve crossed his arms looking at Dustin. "Badah Badah...BOOM!" Dustin exclaimed and we all jumped a little. "What the fuck Henderson?" Steve looked at him confused. "So my compass didn't work out here right? And yea maybe I'm just shitty with a compass or maybe it's a gate!" Eddie looked at us confused. "A gate..?" "Yes! And according to this compass it's right...that way!" Dustin exclaimed before running off that direction. "Shit!" Steve exclaimed before we all chased after him. 

     After a few minutes of running we found ourselves at Lover's Lake. Dustin stopped in his tracks and showed us the compass. "Bingo. This is it. Watergate." Steve looked confused. "Okay but this tells us absolutely nothing. The gate could be anyway." Nancy started undoing the boat. She snatched the compass out of Dustin's hand. Eddie shrugged and pushed the boat into the water. We all got into the boat, and then Dustin tried to climb in. "Woah, you tryna sink us?" Eddie flicked his head and pushed him back. "Sorry guys, but I said I'd protect you little shits and that's exactly what I'm doing." Steve said firmly and none of the kids disagreed. We pushed the boat off and hit the lake. After a bit of looking, the compass started freaking out. "Guys...I think we found it." Nancy looked over the boat. Steve started taking off his shirt. "What are you doing?" I looked at him confused. "Going to find that gate." Eddie handed him a flashlight and smiled. "Good Luck." And with that Steve flipped off the side of the boat. Great. Back to the Upside Down.
