Pedro glared across the room. Seeing all the people dancing, talking, laughing. Having a great time. And there he was. Nursing the dregs of his Whiskey in the stout glass in his hand, watching her. "You gotta let it go bro" Oscar's voice came from beside him, as his friend came to sit on the chair next to him. "what?" Pedro snapped a little as he threw the remainder of his Whiskey down his throat. It burned a little. He enjoyed the feeling. "(Y/N), you gotta let her go" he said, looking out watching her too. Pedro grunted as he let out a sigh, running his hand through his fluffy brown hair. The cigarette between his fingers sending ribbons of smoke into the air. "I fucking can't" he replied to his friend, raising his head back up, eyes planted firmly on her again, like they had been for the last hour; since he found her in the same room as him. "it's been a year..." Oscar continued, looking at his friend with worried eyes. "We're all concerned for you." he added. But Pedro shook his head. "what for? I'm perfectly fine" he shrugged stubbornly. Oscar let out a bitter chuckle. "dude, c'mon." he sighed. "I admit, you guys would have been awesome together-" Oscar's admission just made Pedro's heart crack just that tiny bit more. He knew he let something amazing go and he regretted it ever since. "but you were the one to walk away. You had to be sure that it wasn't working for you" he added. But Pedro disagreed.

"She deserved better than what I had to give her back then." He replied. "doesn't mean that I didn't want her" he added sharply. He pulled the cigarette between his teeth and took a drag. "That I don't want her" he corrected before blowing the smoke out of his nostrils. Dark eyes still fixed onto her perfect shape as she danced around the floor with her friends. "well have you talked to her?" Oscar questioned. But Pedro didn't answer. His eyes widened, "what the hell is my sister doing over there?" He questioned, seeing Lux appear through the crowded dancefloor and make her way over to where (Y/N) was dancing.

READER'S POV

"you wanna stop and head to the bar for a drink? My feet are killing me!" The girl laughed who had started dancing with me and my friends. I laughed and nodded, what the hell? So I followed her along to the bar and we took a seat and waited for the barman to come over to take our order. "I've not had this much fun in a long time" she laughed, flicking her hair off her shoulder. "me either" I smiled back, still trying to catch my breath. "what's your name honey?" She asked, "I'm Lux" She added, her hand resting on her chest. "cool name" I grinned, making her laugh, "I was born Lucas. But it just didn't fit" she winked at me and I felt my face flush. But we both started to laugh. "well Lux certainly does" I smiled, "I'm (Y/N)" I added. "who are you here with?" I asked, glancing around noticing I had yet to see her with a companion. My friends were still on the dancefloor with some guys. As usual. She leaned over to the girl behind the bar to tell them some sort of drink for us before she sat back on her stool and turned to me. "I'm came with my boring brother and his friends" she rolled her eyes, making me smile. "he'll most probably be watching me" she smiled wryly, "he's so over protective of me" she said making me smile again. "that's nice though right?" I cocked my head to a side. She sighed and nodded. "yeah it is. He's been my biggest supporter over the years. I don't know what I'd do without him" she sighed in contemplation. I couldn't help but smile at her. "that's sweet" I smiled, taking my drink off the girl behind the bar. "actually..." she said, quickly grabbing the girl before she left to serve someone else. "could I get a Whiskey as well?" the girl nodded and walked off once again. "I'm gonna introduce you to him" She beamed. "you're just his type" she smiled mischievously. "Lux!" I gasped, feeling my face redden. "oh please" she waved me off. "how do you know that I aren't in a relationship?" I questioned her with a raised brow and a sly smile. But she looked at me with the same expression. "honey, I don't care who you're with; you won't find another man that can be better than my brother" she sassed me, grabbing my hand and pulling me off the bar stool. Not before I grabbed my drink too.
