Chapter 1

POV-Ora

I ran to the other room as Mikyle followed, screaming at me. My cheeks were wet with tears.

" Ora!! look at me." I wiped my face with the sleeve of the hoodie I was Wearing and turned to look at Mikyle, with tears in my eyes. His face full of anger, His eyes cold almost soulless.

"What do you want ??" i whispered, my voice cracking.

he tilted his head, he looked amused in a way. "I want you back Ora baby, I want you."

I felt my face heating up, filled with anger. " What the fuck Mikyle!! You broke up with me remember!!"

I pointed my finger right in his face, my own face now wet with a new set of tears.

"You fucked up Mikyle and you have to deal with the consequences."

he looked startled. " it was a mistake okay!! I know that now"

I looked at him searching his face for any sign of the guy i fell in love with, the guy who promised to never leave me, to always be there and never let the distance get between us. But I knew better than to take him back. he would break my heart again if I did and I don't think I can handle that shit again. its only been a month since he broke up with me in a fucking text message blaming it all on the distance meanwhile it was because he had feelings for his so called "best friend" Lana. He told me there was nothing going on between them and that I was just being jealous and overreacting but then I do not exactly think it was a coincidence that he spent the weekend with her and decided to break up with me 2 days later. CIONCIDENCE...I THINK NOT !! My best friend always told me that if a guy has a girl best friend its basically just his backup plan for when shit hits the roof with the Girlfriend. I should of listened to my Bestie from the start but then again she liked Mikyle more than any of my past boyfriends so Mikyle had her fooled to a point as well. I will not make the mistake of getting back together with him.

" What then Mikyle?? if i come back to you and then everything's okay for a couple months and then you decide the distance is too much, Break up with me again?? you knew I was changing schools and you asked me out anyway!! but then your pathetic excuse is that you cant handle the Distance."

"Ora baby" he sighed

"Dont Ora baby me! Its over Mikyle and we are never getting back together. As much as I love you with all my heart, I will not be a fool and get back together with you. My mother raised and soldier not a Bitch. it is over, im done, we are done."

Mikyle stood there for a second just staring at me, disbelief written across his face, i could almost see the boy i fell in love with in Grade 9 but just as fast as i saw him he left. I could never figure out what changed. What turned his heart to stone? what changed?

as I turned to leave, i felt him grab my arm as if it was his last plea to get me to stay but when i turned to look at him, his face was full of so much anger it actually scared me.

" Let go of me!" I screamed and fell to the floor. Mikyle stood there hovering over me, he bent down and whispered in my ear. " no one will ever truly love you!"

I woke up startled as my aunt drove over a speed bump. i gasped

" Are you okay sweets??" my beautiful aunt asked as she looked over at me from the drivers seat.

I smiled, " Yeah..... sorry i am okay aunt May."

she squeezed my knee. " well i am glad you woke up, we have just arrived home. its been a long drive."

We just drove 6 hours back into town after staying with my parents for the summer but now school starts in 3 days which means im brought back into reality. My last year of high school. its going to be different, i can feel it.

Just as we pull up in the parking lot, i hop out the car with my short ass legs and almost stumble when suddenly im swept off my feet in a giant bear hug, i let out a little scream. I smell Cocoa butter and i already know its My bestie.

" Ivy!!!!" i squeal as a wrap my arms around her in a tight hug. My face buried in her beautiful Afro hair.

"OJ how you doing babe, im so glad you back!" she says as she releases me from her bear hug,.

I smile at her, " Its so good to be back! you know how much i missed you, my summer was a disaster."

She looked at me and twirled a piece of my long brown hair between her fingers.

" Yes hun and you can tell me all about it while we get ready to go to a party." the smile disappeared from my face and Ivy let out a small laugh

" Yes, i said party and i have already spoken to aunt May and she said Yes!" i turned to aunt May with narrow eyes, betrayal showing on my face.

aunt May looked at me and laughed." oh come on Ora, you are 18 and its your last year of high school. Go out and have fun!!"

i rolled my eyes. " fine just let me finish unpacking my bags." Ivy squealed with happiness and gave me one last hug before grabbing one of my suitcases and bolting up the stairs and into the house.

" oh sure you can run carrying a 10kg suitcase up the stairs for a party but you cant run for PE at school??" i yelled as she disappeared into the house.

two hours later i was standing in front of the mirror admiring the outfit that Ivy had put together for me, she knew my style that's for sure. i had simple black ripped jeans, with a low cut lace top. my long hair fell down my back almost reaching my waistline and white air forces that were gifted to me by a dear friend. i turned away from the mirror and stood there for a minute just admiring my best friends outfit. a tight dark green dress that complemented her beautiful dark chocolate skin, it had strings that wrapped around her arms with little leaf patterns that kind of remind me of poison ivy. ironic right.

" Are you sure you are going to survive a whole night in those??" i snickered while pointing at her ridiculously high heels. She looked at me and flipped me off. "never doubt my abilities honey." she said with a wide smile on her face as we walked out the door.,

It was a 20 minute drive to get to the location of this so called party and when Ivy pulled into the parking lot i knew this wasn't just some ordinary high school party.

" Ivy what the fuck is this ??" I said as I turned to look at her sitting in the drivers seat

she sheepishly smiled at me and shrugged, " I told you, its a party."

" this is not a party!"

Ivy laughed, " calm down honey its just an underground fighting ring, the party is there."

i gasped," AN UNDERGROUND FIGHTING RING ARE YOU CRAZY IVY-----" Ivy covered my mouth before i could finish with my objectivity. Still covering my mouth she said," Ora Hun seriously, if i had told you about this party and where it was you would of never come with me.... you need to relax and just explore okay?"

i looked at her puppy dog eyes and couldn't resist. I sighed, " Fine, but one sign of danger and I'm leaving even if its without you." she chuckled.. " you could never leave me behind Ora, you love me too much." i giggled and gave her a swift kiss on the cheek as i got out the car and started walking to the entrance. my stomach twisted and i whispered to myself.

" I have a bad feeling about this.."
