When Sophie woke up the next morning it took her a while to remember what happened. Realization hit her as she opened her eyes to find herself in Snape’s spear bedroom. By the look of the sky outside the dusty window it was rather early. Since she didn’t want to lie back down on the uncomfortable bed she decided to go around and explore for a bit.

Sophie walked over to the closet and opened it. There were not much inside, a few old sheets and a lot of dust. She was about to close it again, but something caught her eye. Wrapped in one of the sheets who once was probably white, but now discolored brown, she spotted a small wooden box.

Sophie grabbed her wand and muttered “Lumos!”  Light appeared on the tip of the wand so she could get a closer look. The box looked homemade and old. She blew off some dust from the lid and “Severus Snape” was engraved on the top off it. By the look of the handwriting she could see it was probably the work of a child’s hand. Burning with curiosity she opened it and looked inside.

The small box contained a photo of a young Snape together with a sullen looking woman, probably his mother. There were also a few bronze - Knuts and one silver – Sickle. A small smile appeared on Sophie’s lips from the sight of her friend’s small treasure. She put the box back where she found it, wrapped in the old sheets, but in order to do so she had to climb into the closet. It was barely enough room for a small person, but since she was so small and skinny she fitted perfectly. There was a crack when she had to support her weight at the wall and suddenly the closet wall opened and she fell to the ground on the other side with a dunk.

“Ouch!” She dammed as she rubbed her head with her left hand. She was now in a secret passage way, no light lit up the small hallway and it smelled strange. Getting to her feet, she grabbed her wand again and continued down a narrow ascending staircase. Soon she came to a hidden door and heard voices on the other side of it. “Nox” She mumbled and the light was out. Sophie pressed her ear up against the wall to hear better.

“The Dark Lord wants to know where she is Severus! He believes you have information about her.” Sophie gasped as she recognized Bellaltrix horrible voice. “The Lord told me himself any information about Sophie would be well rewarded.” She said with a hint of jealousy.

“Bella don’t you think if I knew anything about the child I would have told the Lord myself already? Or are you under the impression I have changed side?” Snape’s voice was cold and credible. Sophie almost let out a sigh of relive and surprise. She held her breath as she waited for Bella to answer. “I don’t trust you.”

“Yes, but the Dark Lord does.” Snape spoke again confidently. “He doesn’t see the things I do.” Bella sneered. “Do you question the Dark Lord?” Snape spoke accusingly, taking Bella off guard. “Of course not! How dare you say that?”

Realizing Snape dominated she made a threateningly sneering sound towards him. Something that would have scared the shit out of most people, but Snape didn’t even flinch and continued looking superior down at her. Bella left with a hurry. Snape stood there completely calm and cold, holding a glass of red wine in his hands. Sophie had all her senses on guard and a couple of minutes passed by in silence. “You can come out now Sophie.” She heard Snape say, it took her a couple of seconds to realize it was her he was referring to. With a cracking sound the hidden door set in a wall of books opened, revealing Sophie looking shocked, surprised and somehow happy.

They didn’t say anything, but the air had definitely lightened. After supper that night Sophie entered the living room where Snape was reading. She felt a bit awkward. Snape looked up from his book and waited for what she had to say. “Thank you for…letting me stay.” She spoke after a while. The words weren’t forced, but they weren’t coming easily out either. Snape honestly didn’t have the time to react or respond before she walked out. The situation had turned more than a few steps in the right direction, even though he hadn’t meant for it to happen.

Okay I just have to inform that this isn’t one of my usual father daughter relationship stories. It is not a love story either. Snape and Sophie are simply friends, best friends so to say.

ANYWAAAAAYYY Enjoy!<3
