"What do you mean you haven't found her?!" You shrieked, standing in the office of The Last Drop and staring down at Silco who sat nonchalantly at his desk. He flicked the ash off of his cigarette and his good eye traveled up to you, expression emotionless as if he couldn't care less. You froze, fear and anger filling your chest as you realized they haven't. Of course they hadn't. Sevika was expected to take care of herself, but she was useful to them so why wouldn't they-
"This is fucking ridiculous! You're a coward!" You snapped, clenching and unclenching your fists as you resisted the urge to strangle the man in front of you. You'd just have to jump over the desk, and it would be so easy to wrap your small hands around his neck and squeeze.
"She'll find her way back." Is all he said and you nearly saw red. It was exactly what you were expecting him to say, but it really got your blood boiling.
"She's not a damn dog! She's always here and has been missing for days!" You were shaking and the two men at the door were looking at each other nervously, wondering if they should step in and lead you out. Silco raised a hand to them to signal that it wouldn't be necessary. He knew he was being unfair and almost coward-like for not going after her, but he didn't have the time.
"Fine. If you won't try to find her then I will." You stated and the other froze, eye widening at your courage and dare he say stupidity. You were a frail looking girl, only ever saying a word today. Sevika's disappearance had sparked a few things within you, encouraging you to speak your mind which you had never done. You had always remained on the sidelines, speechless and obedient. You didn't fight unless you had to and you stayed away from conflict, but you couldn't just let go of her this easily. She was what helped you get by and had pulled you from a struggle more times than you ever did for her. You owed her.
You stormed out of the room without another word, not waiting for Silco's response as the anger slowly bubbled to the surface. You needed to let it out someway before you went about investigating people. People wouldn't help you if you were being a bitch. So you hid out in the bathroom for a while, rubbing at your eyes and pacing around the small room. It was one of the private ones so you didn't need to worry about people walking in.
You breathed slowly, sitting on the ground with your back leaned up against the wall as you calmed yourself. What really frustrated you about this was the loyalty issue. Sevika was beyond loyal to the eye of Zaun and Silco was always adamant about wanting loyalty, but he wasn't ready to give it back. She fought for him, bled for him, and for what? To get left to die in a ditch while no one thought to look for her? Not if you could help it.
Eventually, you left the confines of the room and looked down at the stairs that led into the bar. The pounding music hurt your ears and was already making your head throb, but you sighed and walked down into the crowd of people. First stop: the card tables.
It was hours later, you had been asking everyone you could about Sevika and where she might have gone and so far no one had an answer for you.
"I think I remember her walking out with some guy, but she didn't look happy.." A lady tried to recall, tapping her lip in concentration. You perked up, listening intently as this was the first clue you had managed to gather all night.
"Did you see where they went? Even just a direction?" You asked quickly, nervous to hear her response. You hoped to god that she knew. You wouldn't know where to go if you couldn't find somebody here who knew.
"I think they walked off to the right, but I didn't follow them." She explained, picking up her drink and sipping at it as she looked down at your small form. She had noticed that the woman who was practically at the bar 24/7 hadn't been there for a while.
"Do you think something happened?" The lady inquired, an amused look in her eye as she watched you glance around the room. You frowned and crossed your arms as you nodded to her question. Her amusement only grew as she smiled, almost mockingly, down at you.
"And you think you can get her back?" She asked and you raised an eyebrow up at her. Was she implying that you were too weak to execute a rescue mission?
"Yes." The response made her let out a laugh and you huffed, slightly offended. You rolled your eyes and walked away, not bothering to turn at her calls for you to come back. You had a small idea of what to do now.
The stars twinkled brightly outside and the moonlight barely illuminated the ground you walked upon. The sky was brighter than it should've been though, a cause of light pollution that you hated with a passion. It was nice to walk out onto your balcony and watch the dots, but you couldn't think about that right now. You quickly set off to the right as soon as you left the bar, squeezing into alleys with your slim form and slinking around in the shadows. You had no clue what you'd be looking for, but you kept an eye out for any suspicious buildings. Maybe a warehouse.
It was a dead end. You found nothing. You walked until dawn, asking the few people who were out if they had seen anything. Nothing. Nothing nothing nothing! You let out a yell of defeat and slumped against the wall of an alleyway, exhaustion hitting you like a train and dragging you down. Your body refused to get up and you whined, rubbing your eyes.
People now roamed the streets on either side of you, not paying any attention to the person in the alley. Ignoring you. No one ever ignored you when you were young and you welcomed the silence. People weren't kind to you before, and they still weren't. That was the only reason why you hung out with Sevika, she seemed to actually care for you. The first time she had ever helped you was when some guy was trying to mess with you and she had gotten him to leave.
"Y/N." A voice got you to lift your head and you glared up at the guy you had left back in the office. You didn't feel like arguing with him again, but he had a sympathetic expression and you huffed, looking away.
"What?"
Silco frowned and knelt down to fix your hair for you that had bundled into a mess when you slid down the wall. You debated on batting his hand away, but when you decided, he had already pulled his hand back.
"Did you find anything?"
"Why do you care?" You snapped back, glaring at the other again which only made his frown deepen.
"You didn't even wanna look for her-" You whined, pulling your knees up to your chest to hide your face.
Silco sighed and pulled at your arm until you let him pull you to your feet. He patted off your shoulders then stepped back to look at you.
"It's dangerous and I don't want you looking for her." He said, almost coldly, and you gaped at him. You were baffled to say the least. Since when did Silco ever care if something was dangerous or not?
"You're not my dad!" You snapped out in panicked defense and he drooped some more. He didn't want you hurting yourself while looking after someone that didn't deserve your care or affection- in his eyes anyway. Sevika wouldn't want you of all people looking for her, but she would be glad for anyone at this point that was good to kick open the two large doors that kept her trapped.
There was silence between you two for a while before Silco let out a quiet growl and got to his feet.
"Fine. If you need help, you know where to find me." He didn't like it, but there was nothing he could do or say that would keep you on your ass. You were grateful that he'd finally leave you alone and you had no intentions of coming to him for help anytime soon.
Second thing is second. You had to find out who despised Sevika and who was bold enough to do something about it.
