Oh, salami! How I love your moistness!
I bought you at Stop and Shop, covered in gold.
The feeling you put in my heart was boisterous,
Now ten months later, you're covered in mold.

The spices you contain put a spark in my mouth,
When you were handed to me at the deli, I shed a tear.
But soon I forgot about you and it all went south,
Sadly, we have not touched for almost a year.

The texture of your fungus feels fuzzy.
I caress the bumps along your log.
Do I dare taste you? You may be scuzzy.
Your putrid smell sends me into a fog.

I walk you the garbage, but there is a delay,
I cannot get rid of you, I'll hold on another day.
